So, you think you know Bettie Serveert, huh? The Dutch combo that set the template for '90s indie rock with their classic 1992 debut, Palomine, and its follow-ups, Lamprey (1995), and Dust Bunnies (1997). The energetic outfit that peddled their infectious, hard-edged guitar pop on numerous tours with colleagues like Belly, Dinosaur Jr., and Buffalo Tom.
Hmmm. Maybe you want to reconsider just how thoroughly acquainted with Bettie Serveert you are. Because if you approach Attagirl, the band's seventh full-length (and their first for Minty Fresh), with those opinions set in stone, you'll be as shocked as any teenybopper who slapped on Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band back in 1967 expecting to hear "I Want To Hold Your Hand, Pt. 2." Oh, the players are the same. Singer Carol van Dyk, guitarist Peter Visser, and bassist Herman Bunskoeke remain front-and-center. But Attagirl is the work of a band refreshed, one full of new ideas. Put simply, this ain't your old college radio director's Bettie Serveert.

Vriendelijke groet, Sven
So I had $3 left on an Amazon.com gift cert balance & used it to buy three of the mp3s off the Deny All EP ("Deny All", "Waiting For Control", and "Calling (XL Version)"). I really like "Waiting For Control" and I love "Calling" omg. Wish I could have gotten the fourth track (I'm blanking on the name, sorry!).

Two abstract urban meditations composed by French visual artist Jérôme Schlomoff.
Both filmed with a pinhole movie 35mm camera, these two films create mysterious and eerie portraits of the two cities, a ghostly New York City under a snowstorm and a poetical exploration of Amsterdam as a city suspended between past, present and future, in a visual voyage filmed at some of the city’s building sites.
Both films are going to be presented with a live soundtrack performed by experimental hip-hop producer Smooth One and bass player Mouard Baali.
Smooth One biographical notes:
Smooth One comes from the abstract hip-hop scene. He wrote with Dj cam the two first album in 1996 and 1998, Underground Vibes and Substance. After a live album recorded in « Transmusicales » festival in Rennes and many remix for Air, Tek9 and Silent Poets, Smooth One decided to work alone, mainly on film music, and managing his own label, Superflux, which also published the soundtrack of
