    The long, rectangular room is spare: three scallop-backed, circular booths by the entrance, a pool table midway, and dance floor in back. Exposed brick walls and dark-wood floors run throughout. Illumination comes mostly from blue neon and the dance floor's flashing lights, which streak across in an array of colors. The lengthy bar spans three-quarters of the west wall, leaving plenty of room to order premium concoctions, such as apple martinis and Jagerbombs or tap beers like Stella Artois and Blue Moon.

Betty's draws in all types. You can always expect to find a few motorcycles out front, but it's certainly not a bikers-only bar. Wicker Park/Bucktown yuppies like to come, as well as plenty of industry folks, who arrive once they get off from their shifts at other clubs around the city.

Bettys Blue Star Lounge is an unpretentious, roomy bar offering comfortable seating and a low-key atmosphere with a pool table during the early hours, and then transforms into a booming after-hours dance party on the weekend. Located on the corner of Ashland and Grand, street parking is pretty easy with valet available on Fridays and Saturdays.

There is a full premium liquor bar with 37 bottled beer choices and 8 selections on tap.
