Reviews
"Pianist Crumrine spins wondrous musical yarns ranging from Rock to Classical, Impressionist to Tango and even blending in some sounds from the Middle East. All of this is done with the capable assistance of Widerski, who helps to lend texture and layers to the piano sound on Ginger Ibex' debut album, Firefly" - Wildy Haskell, WildysWorld.blogspot.com, October 2009
"Le violon de Betty Widerski est majestueux tout au long des titres. M, Sharon, Allen et Betty sont en plus des personnes charmantes, drôles, distribuant de la bonne humeur à tous ceux qui les connaissent. La musique des Milling Gowns les représente bien, touchante et vivante." - Marie-Agnès, Kingem.Blogspot.com, August 2008
"Instrumentally, the looseness and informality of Gallows Hill doesn’t hide the proficiency of the musicians on their instruments (particularly Betty Widerski on violin)." - Joe Hartlaub, Music-Reviewer.com, March 2008
"Although the claim of roots, rhythm and gothic blues is an accurate one, the songs on Gallows Hill are also peppered with bits of jazz and folk-rock. What makes the band stand out from any other bluesy bar band is the secret weapon tag team of accordion player John Buczkowski and violinist Betty Widerski. What these two players bring to the table is what gives RBATD their personality" - Gina Morris,

"All eyes turned on Betty Widerski as she fiddled furiously and with unshakable energy for the local Celtic punk band The Gobshites. Her power at this recent St. Patrick’s Day festival in Boston, complemented by the banjo, mandolin and accordion around her - and the pint-chugging audience in front of her - made for the kind of Emerald isle jam session that gets an irish music novice hooked." - Kaitlin Keane, The Patriot Ledger (Quincy MA), March 15 2007
"i am willing to get past the stereotype of a roots band covering Devil Went Down to Georgia solely based on her performance. She sounded better than the recording. Seriously." - Julia Hughes, February 2007
I'm a string slut (i.e. will play pretty much anywhere with anyone) and a gearhead (ask me how many violins, violas, amps, bows, effects, etc I have!).
I'm also available for session work and general business gigs (weddings, cocktail parties, etc.)
That's great! I'm really glad things seem to be working out with the new group. Are you as overbooked as last year? The Grad school search is finished, now we're in the application stage. Argh. But my pieces are getting there for the audition. Lots of work as always!
Thanks for the add, Betty, and for your help in spreading the word about the Taunton River Folk Festival www. tauntonfest. org) and keeping live music alive!
Thanks for your message! Our pianists will insist on using the awkward keys! it's alright for them isn't it?! I really enjoyed listening to your music - great stuff! Sue x
