Influences
Betty iz a Blockhead through and through. Ian Dury is one of her heroes, Her Grandmother the other and they have shaped Betty, the Album and whatever music Betty will produce in the future.
Her musical interest does not stop there, nor do the influences on the music of Betty Woz 'Ere, the boys will probably join her on The Blockheads but there is also a large liking and smattering of... Tom Waits and Marie Lloyd
So many to mention and Betty can't swear to whom else loves these but she is putting them down anyway, in no particular order
sQUEEZE, bILLY bRAGG, nICK cAVE & THE BAD Seeds, David Essex, Robert wYATT,eLIZA cARTHY , THE WATERSONS, THE shangri las,The Jam, The Clash, Chris Foster, Funi, Leon Rosselson, Daniel Johnston, the fun lovin' criminals, Frank Zappa, the Andrew Sisters, Tammy Wynette, Bessie Smith, Bjork, The Manic street preachers, x-ray specs, kate bush, the Stones, BONZO DOG DOO DAH'S, TOOTS AND THE MAYTAILS, The specials, the Band, BOB MARLEY AND THE WAilers, blonDIE, alex Harvey band,
I shall think of some more later but it could take all night!............
Sounds Like
Not sure, a veritable smorgasbord. Hopefully something a bit different , But not uneasy on the ear.

Betty’s extravaganza can cure all ills, there’ll be no need for libation or pills. The lurgy, the flu, the palsy, the ague, Betty’s extravaganza can make them better for you

It began as the workings of the fragile mind of Beth Dismore, FOR she is Betty and Betty is she...........................................................................
Beth lives in Brighton and began writing and singing in secrecy and sin over six years ago, She had to put it somewhere! Would have driven her dotty otherwise! ...................................................Let it all out luvvy! It’s better out than in! Betty is her alter ego, Betty says things Beth could never get away with, she is lewd, rude, forthright, brazen, honest, astute, passionate, loving, funny and most importantly to Beth, Betty doesn’t give a monkey’s what you think! Take it or leave it,
……………...............................................................
And now there you have it and here it is, as it were, the oeuvre that is Betty Woz ‘Ere has been let loose on a slightly surprised but not unkindly public. She is ably assisted by a band of excellent musicians, erstwhile called Trad Arr. men of impeccable manners who have been decent enough to accompany, chaperone and escort Betty as she parades herself about in an essentially indecent fashion. Well someone has to?
. ………………………………
Since MARCH 07 Betty Woz ‘Ere has played such illustrious venues as The Hope and Anchor in Islington, The Spice of Life in Soho, The 100 Club in Oxford Street, The Water Rats in Kings Cross. Betty has aired her linen alongside none other than The Blockheads and Bad Manners; she has a small but perfectly eclectic following from big burly blokes, women with a past and admirers of corsetry to the waifs and strays without any other home like herself! They have made an album and hope to make another. Their latest forays included turns at the 12 bar club and Filthy McNasty's where we have been invited back several times hurrah!! And we have just been asked back for a repeat performance with The Blockheads double hurrah!! Watch this space ay! www.myspace.com/bettywozere flourishes and there is video footage of Beth and the Boys ( all married more’s the pity) giving it their all on youtube, you can always reach them, contact them at betty_woz_ere@yahoo.co.uk
................................................
And so Beth writes in a flagrant display, she isn’t hiding it anymore for she is Betty and Betty is she. Betty Woz ‘ere want to come and play round your house, It gives them a nip! Invite them in? Ay?
Go on you know you want to…………….xx

CIAO AMIGOSS, WELCOME TO “PALESTISRAEL CITY” AND KEEF THE RIDE… PEACE FOR KIDS BY BOOGIE BALAGAN
LAMENTATION WALLOO
When i was a boy I was dreaming of a land A Promised land for everyone When i was a kid I was diggin n’ diggin Across the border line I was sawing the seeds of time Sun flowers, avatiah...feeling fine
My homeboy Ali was my buddy But he was playing by the other side...
So we were climing up those mountains Flyin’ high as eagles do... N’ meanwhile heads were banging On the lamentation walloo
When i was a toy I was praying with the gun I didn’t know how to read between the lines When i was a toy I was bleeding n’bleedin It was a sign of spine I was layin’ on my home grown sorrow A kind of bleeding graps of wine My homeboy Ali was my best enemy But he was burried by the other side... (Azriel : ps 9 the Walloo Book)
Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
