..Between the Frost empezo a finales de 1993 tocando un Black-Death melodico, cuando J.M. (guitarra), despues de haber tocado en otra banda de Black Metal, y Asier (bateria), pusieron todo su empeño en algo que ya hacia tiempo que tenian en mente. La entrada de C. de Castellarnau a la otra guitarra fue crucial para los inicios del grupo y para que se empezaran a componer los primeros temas. No mucho mas tarde, Roman (hermano de J.M., y que provenia de un grupo de Death Metal) era el encargado de poner voz a los temas.

En Agosto de 1996, después de numerosos ensayos y de estar completamente satisfechos con las canciones, se grabaron 5 de ellas en un 4 pistas para darse a conocer.

No contentos con el resultado, en Enero de 1997 se volvieron a grabar las mismas 5 canciones, pero esta vez en un estudio de 16 pistas profesional. En esta grabación C. de Castellarnau grabó también el bajo. Poco después la banda contó con la ayuda de David Valdés como bajista para las actuaciones en directo.

Esta segunda grabación hizo que Abstract Emotions se interesara y ambos se pusieron de acuerdo para sacar lo que seria su CD debut "Instinct of Surliness" en verano de 1998.

Es entonces cuando, después de la grabación, entra Alberto como bajista sustituyendo a David Valdés; y tras varios conciertos, C. de Castellarnau abandona el grupo debido a que sus intereses musicales iban encaminados hacia otras direcciones, pasando David Valdés a colaborar en la guitarra de forma provisional. Se realizan un par de conciertos con esta nueva formación y se trabaja con nuevos temas, inclinándose a un estilo un poco más agresivo y rápido que lo anterior.

A finales de 1999, David Valdés decide dedicar más tiempo a su banda, lo que le impide una intensa colaboración con BTF, quedando el grupo imposibilitado para realizar conciertos, aprovechando este tiempo para la creación de nuevos temas y la preparación de su segundo CD.

En Junio de 2002 entra a formar parte del grupo David M., dando un hilo de esperanza al futuro de BTF, estando el grupo preparado para una nueva grabación y futuros conciertos. Durante los años 2003-2004 se graba el segundo disco del grupo, grabación que se alarga debido a varios problemas. Finalmente a principios de 2005 Andy LaRoque masteriza el nuevo disco, quedando todo lista para su publicación.

Se realizan algunos conciertos y a mediados del 2005 por motivos personales, David M deja el grupo, pasando a ser un estrecho colaborador de la banda en temas de promoción, producción y buen amigo.
Después de algunas pruebas con guitarristas se realizan dos conciertos con un músico de sesión. Se busca un miembro estable que encaje con la filosofía de BTF y en Agosto de 2006 entra a formar parte del grupo Iosué, ex-miembro de Argar (black-metal de Barcelona), que había trasladado su lugar de residencia a Valls.

Después de una larga búsqueda y gracias a la colaboración de Dave Rotten se consigue un contrato con Grotesque Productions para dos trabajos. Lo que abre un nuevo camino en el futuro de BTF.

El segundo disco de BTF sale publicado en abril de 2007 y va acompañado de numerosos conciertos de presentación por el territorio nacional. La banda participa en festivales como el Alhama Metal Madness, Martohell o Move Your Fucking Brain y les lleva a telonear a bandas como Thirdmoon,Grave, Scar Symmetry, Textures o Moonsorrow.

En septiembre de 2008 la banda se embarca en un gira dentro de las fechas nacionales del "Ithyphalic Europe Tour" como teloneros de Nile, Grave y Belphegor a lo largo de 6 días participando también en el festival portugués Chaos Emergente Open Air.

Between the Frost was created at the end of 1993, as a powerful band of melodic Black-Death metal. JM (guitars), who came from another Black Metal band, and Asier (drums), began this project, that was something that they have in their minds for a long time. Then, C. de Castellarnau joined the band as second guitar player, and their began to rehearsal and the first songs were written. Not to much later, Román, brother of JM, and coming from a Death Metal band, joined the band also, and put voice to the songs.

In August 1996, after a lot of rehearsals and been totally satisfied with the songs, 5 of them were recorded in a home studio, as a try to get the attention of the labels. That became the very first demo of the band. Not satisfied with the result, in January 1997 re-recorded the demo, this time in a professional recording studio, and again, C. de Castellarnau recorded the bass lines. After that, the band asked to David Valdés to join the band as a session bass player for live performances. This second recording made that Abstract Emotions and the band began to talk, and the label edited the band..s debut album “Instinc of Surliness” redorded in 1997, and edited in the summer of 1998.

After that, Alberto joined the band as the replacement of David Valdés. After several concerts, C. de Castellarnau left the band because of a dissapointments in music interests, and David Valdés re-joined the band as a provisional replacement.

They began to play live with this formation, but a few shows later, David Valdés took the decision to dedicate all of his time to his own project, and left the band. At this time, BTF began to work in new songs, having in mind the coming of the second album. Unfortunatelly, Abstract Emotions dissappeared as a record label, and the band began to search again a new label.

In June 2002, David M. joined the band, giving a thread of hope in the future of BTF, and the band get prepared for the new recording and the upcoming concerts.

Two years later, in 2004, the band finishes the recording of the new album, that has been delayed a long time due a lot of problems. Finally, at the beginings of 2005 Andy LaRocque, King Diamond..s guitarist, mastered the album at LosAngered Studios (Sweden), being all prepared for the publishing of “Realms of Desolation”.

The band began the hard work to find a new record label, and after a couple of concerts, David M. left the band due a personal reasons, becoming a near helping hand in promotion, production and a good friend.

After some rehearsals with different guitarists the band plays two shows with a session member at the guitar. The band take the decision to find an official member that fills the philosophy of Between The Frost, and in August 2006, Iosue (ex-member of Argar, a Black Metal band from Barcelona) becames a part of the band.

After a very long searching, and with the help of Dave Rotten (Avulsed, Xtreem Music), the band finally find a new record label, Grotesque Music, who will publish the next two albums of Between The Frost. So, a new hope of future is open for the band.

The second BTF album was published in april 2007, and was introduced in a lot of national shows. The band played in festivals like Alhama Metal Festival, Martohell and Move Your Fucking Brain, and they were playing as support band for Thirdmoon,Grave, Scar Symmetry, Textures and Moonsorrow.

September 2008 was touring in the "Ithyphallic Europe Tour" that went through Spain for 6 days, with bands like Nile, Grave and Belphegor. They also were playing in the portuguese festival Chaos Emergente Open Air.
