Hey, I'm a former fiction and magazine editor, now working as a full time YA writer (yay, me!). My first two YA novels, I Was a Teenage Popsicle and Beyond Cool (in stores now!), feature a cryo-preserved Venice Beach teen who's the world's first 'thawed' human. (Yup, bad idea to make a moody, hormonal teen a guinea pig.) Both were just optioned for TV by Fresh TV Inc., producers of the fabu 'toon 6teen! Beyond Cool was also recently named a 'Best Book for Teens' by the Canadian Children's Book Centre. It was featured in the Books section of the fabu new glossy teen magazine Justine in October '07, and also won a Flamingnet Young Adult Reviews Top Choice Award! Girlslife.com called I Was a Teenage Popsicle 'super cool', and Sarah Mlynowski (author of Bras and Broomstick) said it was "Fresh and fun, an absolute blast!" Popsicle was also mentioned on Meg Cabot's blog, and featured in a book game on seventeen.com.
If I've asked to be your friend, it's probably 'cuz I noticed you like some of the same books or movies that I like. I live in the Great White North (i.e. Canada) with my fab family. Come visit my website at www.bevkatzrosenbaum.com, where you'll also find details about my popular manuscript critique service.
Happy Birthday Bev! I hope your knee is fully recovered so you can go out and live it up! If you ARE still nursing your knee you can still live it up but be careful---cosmos don't mix well with Vicodin
