SILLY NEIL at "The Fest for Beatles Fans" 2008
MY FAVORITE SONG--ROCK OF AGESMY 2ND FAVORITE SONG--DOWN THAT ROAD/HERE WE GO AGAIN "CONCRETE JUNGLE BOY" from IBORABOUT ME--I'm a single, middle-aged mother (trying to stay cool) of two sons, the older graduated the University of Texas and is looking for a job in Management Information Systems (MIS), the younger starting community college. They have flown the nest, so I finally have some "me" time to pursue a few endeavors: keyboard and guitar playing. I love meeting and chatting with anyone on MySpace about our shared "fandom" of Neil Innes and the Bonzos and any type of music at all. I've started to write poetry/lyrics. All these silly Neil and Bonzo songs are definitely influencing me! It must come from my mom, she's always been able to think of a song that will fit any situation. The musical/comedy part of our family is on my mom's side, and her father was in minstrel shows in the early 1900's. I've traced my mom's side of the family back to the 1500's. Other family members said we originated with the Vikings, then moved across Norway to German to Alsace-Lorraine, France to the US in the 1860's.

Hey there, Here's one from left field... Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat? A while back I came across some very disturbing information, which inspired me to make this video: Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaIim3Rj7L4 Both artistic (ensure you've good enough sound to enjoy the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice. Though the source materials are somewhat aged, the fundamentals remain relevant today. I encourage all to visit the YouTube web page above to learn more (Show your support! Rate! Comment!) and responsibly re-post and circulate as widely as possible. Help to raise awareness. Say have you checked out my web site (http://www.faberoptime.com) recently? Take care and keep in touch. Best, Faber. "Just a guy trying to make the world a better place."
Thanks for the add! Good to have you as a friend! So great to see the internet in action this way, shortening distances between people. :) I hope all's well with you and that you enjoy checking out my web site at www.faberoptime.com some time. Hey there Rok - I read by how your current status that you're "disappointed". What happened? I hope you're okay.
Hmmmm.....unless you're disappointed at not being at a Neil Innes concert. If so, I'm right there with ya, sister! It's years since I've seen him, and I've never stopped wanting to see the bugger again!
Thanks for the add. I will need to sit myself down and take time to go through this great profile of yours.
I was living in the UK at the time that the Innes Book of Records aired. So far I have not been able to find it on dvd, which is a shame. :-( I had the pleasure of seeing Neil play live several times in the early eighties and to meet him after each of these shows. Last time I saw him was in Amsterdam in, I think, 1984 when he had brought his family along. We said goodbye somewhere on the Leidseplein at about four in the morning or so and that was the last I saw of him. ;-) Great to see that he still is around and touring and stuff. And to see that he has such a dedicated group of followers.
Bye the way, I see that it was your birthday only a few days ago, so happy belated birthday!!!
