Come late august 2007, Zack Fischmann (acoustic and electric guitar songwritersingercollaborator extraordinaire from SHAKEY BONES, WOODSWEATS, ex-solo BOB DYLAN/WOODY GUTHRIE/BECK wannabe folksinger troubadour, co-founder of ROOTS N RUCKUS NY, ex-bass player from DISMEMBERS, WEAK LEADS, o.g. TULSA, short time bass player ABI YOYOS, ENVELOPES, current guitar shred hero/flying feet rep.) joined Nelson Rogers (ex-CAMPBELL'S SOUPERHEROES, SHAKEY BONES (electric), writer and multi-instrumentalist of THE WEST, and author of all unwritten masterpieces of future literary movements yet to be named or acknowledged) to form a not-punk band called PEOPLE EATERS.
Zack has shared the stage with: COUNTRY JOE MACDONALD, BOOTS RILEY, DAVID PEEL AND THE LOWER EAST SIDE, LEFTOVER CRACK, AGAINST ME! (dancing with a leprechaun statue), FERAL FOSTER, OTHER SHAKEY BONES SUPERHEROES, HELLA PUNK BANDS, SUICIDE DRAGONS, KIMYA DAWSON, THE BLOTTOS, WOMBAT IN KOMBAT and many more people and bands in 40 or so states.
Zack was born in Nowalk, CT in 1984 though he left in '87 to grow up in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area, most prominently in Walnut Creek. Zack likes ice cream, driving, bob dylan, listening to music, dancing, friends, cooking, San Francisco, guitar, writing/singing songs, traveling, the beach and USA. He once hitchhiked from Sacramento to Maine in 7 days, and then hitchhiked some more before landing in New York long enough to smoke weed at the YIPPIE HQ, and convince FERAL FOSTER to join him in busking and hitching his way back to California, thus deeming him a true AMERICAN HERO. Zack had become a "real" guitar player a few months earlier when his van broke down on the way home to California from Tulsa, OK via I-40 in Weatherford, OK where he stayed for two weeks, watched a lot of VH1 Classic, and traded his bass equipment to a local music shop for an acoustic guitar. He made his living for 2 years busking, touring, and selling handmade CD's. He is known to be very excited and/or not that excited at times. Zack is banned from Little Rock, Arkansas. He is also an unknown poet.
Nelson doesn't share the stage.
Nelson is known for singing killer a'cappella versions of JOHNNY CASH, BUDDY HOLLY, and BEACH BOYS songs. SLUDGEHAMMER once said of Nelson as a drummer, "he's definitely in my top 5" and then failed in producing any other "top 5" drummers other than "that chick in AUTOLUX". Nelson likes reading, rock and roll music, country music, impressing/depressing girls, THE WHO documentaries, working at the movie theatre, chivalry, wit, Keith Moon, Brian Wilson and smoking weed. He's been to way more countries than most people Zack has ever met. He got his first drum set when he was really little. Nelson was a famous guitar player at Campolindo High School and Acalanes High School for a little while. He recently wrote an essay about how Rock and Roll is the most powerful revolution that has happened in western civilization over the past 60 years, thus deeming him a true AMERICAN HERO. Nelson is addicted to caffeine. He also has red hair.
Zack and Nelson were neighbors on Bacon Way in Lafayette, CA for some 6 years during which the two only hung out once. Five years after Zack had moved away, he asked Nelson to join his legacy and the two eventually began PEOPLE EATERS.
PEOPLE EATERS played 2-man rock and roll live punk/bar/club/house shows all along the California coast for the 2nd half of 2007 and the early winter of 2008 sharing lovelies with all available ears, eyes, and bodies. After stealing nobody's girlfriends and totaling Nelson's Toyota Corolla sedan, they are now on hiatus.
Songs on the website were recorded live with shitty built-in computer mic at 2nd (3rd?) band practice august '07, but will hopefully be replaced with masterpiece rerecordings in the unknown future.
