I'm an Upstate New Yorker, through and through. That's why I'm making Beyond Gotham. I believe that the culture of Hip Hop is alive and well in Upstate, and perhaps even more vibrant and more authentic than in major cities. NYC will always be an epicenter for the culture, but it's also at the center of the mainstream of Hip Hop. Take that for what you will; I believe that places like Kingston, Albany, Poughkeepsie, Syracuse, and Rochester need to time to shine. I'm here to point the light and the camera in their direction.
