Beyond Sport's Blurbs |
About me:
This page is to get the word out: There is now an initiative that wants to support, help and connect thos who believe that developing communities and bettering the world can occur through sports projects.
Beyond Sport recognizes that there are tons of people, projects and organisations out there who positively impact their areas though sport endeavors. And it wants to help them.
It does this through the Beyond Sport Awards. The shortlist has just been announced - awith 35 projects reaching over 40 countries being represented. Those who were selected will be brought to the first annual Beyond Sport Awards and Summit in London on July 7-9, 2009, where their projects will be recognized on an international level. They will also get the chance to work with high-profile ambassadors, social entrepreneurs and businesses (click here to see who’s behind Beyond Sport: http://www.beyondsport.org/behind-beyond/people/).
The aim of the event is to enable these projects to expand and be fully self-sufficient.
Beyond Sport also provides a platform through Beyond Sport Voice, which aims to connect those who recognise the power of sport to drive change. Click here to read breaking news, bulletins, and articles – and add your comments, stories, and input about anything regarding social change through sport: www.beyondsport.org/beyond-talk/.
The point of this spread the word and start a worldwide dialogue – so don’t hesitate to get involved!
