Beyond the Veil was formed almost five years ago as a small "sister act". Since that time, the female fronted group has grown to four full-time members, with others soon to be added. Composing all of their own music, filled with telling lyrics and haunting melodies, Beyond the Veil strikes a chord with today's generation. Lead vocals and keys are covered by Brittany Turner. Lending harmony as well as a driving beat on the drums is the middle sister, Miriah Turner. Rounding out the complex three part harmonization and playing backup percussion is the youngest sister, Sierra Turner. The newest member of the band, Chuck Mabe, completes the sound of this cutting edge group playing lead guitar.
Located in Stevensville, Maryland, 40 minutes outside of Washington, DC, Beyond the Veil performs on an average 60 shows a year at coffeehouses, festivals, churches and youth events. Traveling the United States coast to coast, the band is hoping to tour Europe sometime in the near future. "We love being on the road," says Sierra. "It's like our second home." Beyond the Veil's main roadie, their Dad, Rick Turner is also their manager, promotor and full-time best Dad in the world. Traveling as a family, Beyond the Veil has experienced something that many people do not have the opportunity to experience. "My family are also my best friends," says Brittany. "When you're stuck in the car with your entire family for 2-17+ hours you really get to know those people. It's been an amazing thing what God has done with our family. Car rides include life lessons told by our parents (they're always really funny) priceless moments created by all of us and a love for God that we all share in. It's a really cool thing."
Beyond the Veil's debut album, "The Things of This World Pale", titled after a lyric in their self-titled song was released Fall 2007 and is currently being distributed online through over 16 companies including iTunes, Rhapsody, CDbaby and Digstation.
The songs that make up the album deal with many of major issues that people of all ages are facing today. Their song, "To Never Know (Cry of the Unborn)" remains to be one of their most popular songs listened to. "I am still in awe about how much God is using this song after two years. My mom and I wrote this song in the perspective of the unborn child, you know, a voice that is never heard. However, with the way God is using this song I believe that there will come a day when the voice of the unborn will be able to reach not only the ears but the hearts of everyone," Brittany explains.
Beyond the Veil has had the privilege to take part in an orphan and adoption conference held by Bethany Christian Services when they were asked to write a song that dealt with orphaned children. Stephanie Turner, the lyricist and mother of the three girls stated, "Brittany and I wanted to write a song that wasn't necessarily for the adults, you know, to persuade them to adopt these children. We wanted to write a song as a message of hope for orphaned children to hold on to. So we wrote a universal lullaby since most orphans are never given that opportunity to be sung one". The song is called "Dream" and will be included in the bands upcoming album which is still being decided on a title.
The band is currently working on another album. The release date is still unknown but it was suggested to be released Fall 2009. "Our songs and our style are not set to any certain genre. Our songs have been known to be completely different from each other which I suppose makes it difficult to classify us," Brittany explains. "At first it was difficult to fit in and promote our music because we didn't know really who to promote it to because of the wide range of genres that we cover. However, once we gave it to God He began to bring people who we never thought would listen to us. It's been an amazing adventure so far and I pray God continues to keep Beyond the Veil going."
The mission of Beyond the Veil is simple. The band indeed has a message to be sung and played but they hope to connect with people not just through their music but through their own lifestyles. "One of the most important things I have found when it comes to living for God is He has got to be first in whatever we do," Miriah explains. "Another thing is, I don't want to just entertain people, tell them about God and then leave and go to the next show. These people who come to our shows have incredible stories to tell and we want to get to know them not as fans but as brothers and sisters in Christ. After all, these people and the things they endure or are blessed with is what inspires us to write another song."

Well we are about to buy a new system, so It was going to be the last time for that system anyway. As long as we have had each other on our friends list it was a shame no to see each other play.
Did you guys play? We had water getting to the sound board and splashing in the speaker cones and stuff, We just couldn't run any bands and then Justin got shocked and that was it, we thought it was unsafe to set up where we were.
Hey guy's, Im sorry about yesterday, my stuff got a little bit to wet and I didn't really want to keep getting shocked so I had to take it down. I didn't know you guys were still coming! Once again Im sorry and I hope we get to share the stage sometime soon!
