It is interesting that when we see a disaster like a plane crash, we talk about the sadness of all those people dying but we rarely think about our own death. It would do us well if we did. It is, after all, a surprise appointment that each us will have to keep.
Don't be caught offgaurd, your appointment might be tomorrow. This is important because your soul will continue to exist when your heart has stopped beating. This life is not the end.
How do I know? Well, Because a 1st century Jewish carpenter turned itinerent preacher claimed to be God in human flesh, and proved it by rasing himself from the grave. He was killed in public and came back to life. He was seen by over 500 people. He promised that anyone who trusts in him to save them from the wrath of God against sinners (which we all are), will live with him for all eternity in ultimate joy and peace.
That is worth checking into, don't you think?
