BDF's Interests
General
"Neither a borrower nor a lender be: for loan oft loses both itself and friend; and borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry."
--William Shakespeare, Hamlet, Prince of Denmark
Music
I have my favorites (KISS, Megadeth, Anthrax, Linkin Park, Eagles, Bob Marley... and many many more), though I LOVE attending as many summer concerts as I can!
Movies
Pulp Fiction, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Scarface, Saturday Night Fever, Purple Rain, Breakfast Club, The Lost Boys, many many other 80's flicks.
Television
NEVER! (T.V. "kinda BUGS")
I wait until anything GOOD is available on DVD.
"Religion is an illusion and it derives its strength from the fact that it falls within our instinctual desires." (I just like that one, so I've got to put it somewhere)
Oh yeah, this one too: "...a common component of liberal ideology... the belief that traditions do not carry any inherent value and social practices ought to be continuously adjusted for the greater benefit of humanity"
Books
Whoa! Such a wide range of novels come to mind. John Grisham is my current favorite. Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Pirsig kicks ass, and many many others come to mind. I try to read ANYTHING and EVERYTHING by Hemingway. In fact, I graduated with my B.A. in English Literature (2006) from CSU Stanislaus in Turlock, CA, so I'm a reader.... and I hope to shoot for my M.A. as soon as my career has grown into full swing.
"How can I know what I'm thinking unless I've read what I've written?"
Heroes
Gene Simmons!
"A world without heroes / Is like a bird without wings
/ Or a bell that never rings / Just a sad and useless thing..."
Most of my other heroes are asociated with English literature; Oscar Wilde, Henry David Thoreau, Robert Frost, David Sedaris, Nick Hornby... And those are simply the names I've concerned lately.
(Wouldya look at that? Even the CACTUS is happy 2 C U!)
