Bringin' It From The Streets's Blurbs
About me:
Chris Nasadowski's first production, "Bringin' It From The Streets I" on May 8th 2006 was a huge success. Benefiting "Stand Up For Kids Chicago", an organization that works with homeless youth on the streets, a simple project turned into a full scale dance show, featuring some of Chicago's hottest talent. Thanks to The Beverly Arts Center of Chicago, the many talented performers from the Chicagoland area where able to perform in a beautiful theater, with just the right tools to show what they can do.
The following year, "Bringin' It From The Streets II" more than doubled in success with twice the audience, dance troupes, and funds raised for the art center. With some 100 dancers present showing diverse talents ranging from hiphop to modern, and from tap to breakin, it wasn't just studio dance, it was dance taken from the streets of Chicago, with some Chi-Town flavor and style added into it to make it something unique and all its own. May 11th, 2007 was a huge success, and paved that way for the third act in the series.
"Bringin' It From The Streets III", took place on June 20th at the Beverly Arts Center of Chicago, and stands to be the most successful and action packed of either previous show, alone or combined. Featuring dance troupes from all across Chicago, with many new acts and collaborations between groups, it is an event not to have been missed! Featuring twenty plus groups, the show offered a whole new perspective on dance, along with, as mentioned before, a lot of collaborations that brought the groups even closer. Just wait to see what next year brings!
Update! Thanks to all the performers whom helped make this show possible and successful. Being sick and forced off my feet for 2 months forced a show booked 5 months in advance to something that was essentially created and put together in less than one month. But hey, everything happens for a reason, and that just gives me more time to put together something that had been working in my mind for over a year. So, join us next time for BFTS for a first time ever 2 day event. See you all there!
Hello one and all once again, and welcome to Bringin' It From The Streets IV! For the first time ever, I will be hosting a 2 DAY EVENT, with TWO unique and different shows on the first day, that being Saturday, June 20th, at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m., followed by an ALL DAY WORKSHOP on the 21st of June, which will feature the dancers from the previous day teaching dance classes for both dancers and non dancers alike! So join us for both days, and visit this page along with "Bringin It From The Streets" on Facebook for more information, including prices, ticket deals, show lineups, workshops info and prices, etc!
Update! If you like the first show, and want to see the second one at 7:30, bring your ticket stub and ID and get a discount! (20$ for adults, 15$ for students with ID/members/children under 12, or 30$/25$ for both! HUGE discount!
Also, if you are one of the purchasers of BFTS III, and have yet to receive your video because of all of the technical issue due to the problems with last years video team, you will be getting the BFTS IV video for only $5 instead of the $20 normal price! Again, my sincere apologies, I will be handling the videotaping DIRECTLY this year, and you can pick up the video of III at the BAC starting this week (Tuesday, May 19th), or contact me if this does not work. Thanks again for your patience and support! - C
