About me:

I'm Jimmy Pop (sometimes Jimmy Pop Ali) (born James Moyer Franks, August 27, 1972 in Trappe, Pennsylvania) the lead singer of the band Bloodhound Gang. I'm also good friends with Bam Margera. I attended Perkiomen Valley High School. I received a degree in Mass Communications and a minor in history at Temple University where I met Bloodhound Gang bassist Jared "Evil Jared Hasselhoff" Hennegan. I also founded the Jimmy Franks Recording Company, a label on which Bloodhound Gang releases albums, as well as other bands such as Helltrain, Isabelle's Gift, and, more famously, HIM. I'm the only original member of the Bloodhound Gang left in the group, having formed it in 1992 (Lüpüs Thünder joined in 1993). I write the music for, and produce, every album; producing originally out of necessity (we couldn't afford a real producer in the beginning), and then because I wanted more control (and it's still cheaper and easier). Additionally, because I organize my CDs in alphabetical order and make grammar corrections to the Bloodhound Gang's website, Lüpüs has said that i'm a little on the anal retentive side. My humor is extremely juvenile and relies heavily on bodily functions. To this end, some describe my behavior as homoerotic (including, but not limited to, sticking my finger up Spanky G's rectum, fellating a banana and singing about fellatio). Like most of the band, i'm reputed to have a heavy drinking problem, and, as of 1998, smokes three packs of cigarettes a day, Marlboro reds and Prince of Denmarks, and used to smoke Jacks. I do not, however, use any other substance (and is fairly adamant about it). Additionally, i'm very rarely seen drunk. I'm the public face of Bloodhound Gang, and it is almost always me and Evil Jared that do the interviews. Like the other members of the band, I don't take myself too seriously. Unlike the others (most notably DJ Q-Ball), I do take the actual output of the band very seriously, and doesn't joke about leaving or breaking up. I play Gretsch guitars and Marshall amps. I used to play a custom guitar (made by a former Paul Reed Smith employee; it is actually Lüpüs' guitar, and is no longer used) through an Orange amplifier. I started playing guitar live for the tours supporting Hooray for Boobies, and does not play them on the albums. ..
