Hi! My name is Kate and I decided to start Bi Chi because I wanted to have some way of meeting other bisexuals and bi-friendly people in the Chicago area in an atmosphere that was fun, relaxed, and active. I've found that while there are many groups and organizations in Chicago for gays & lesbians, I never quite feel as though I belong... and I'll admit that many times when I've tried to join in LGBTQ activities I'm made to feel unwelcome or like I'm constantly being judged for my sexual orientation.

OUR MISSION [CURRENTLY RESTRUCTURING]: The mission of Bi Chi is to bring together a group of 20 to 30 something bi and bi-friendly Chicagoans for social activities and social action. We want to encourage members to network and meet others in the hopes of fostering friendship, building a sense of community amongst Chicago area bisexual and bi-friendly individuals, and encouraging informed advocacy.

* I feel the need to mention that while this group is for adults, it is not an "adult" social group.

Who I'd like to meet:
MEMBERSHIP

Anyone can become a member of Bi Chi as long as they are open-minded and accepting of bisexuality! We want to create a community environment that is fun and supportive, but not to the exclusion of others. You are welcome regardless of whether you are bi, bi-curious, could be potentially bi-curious in the foreseeable future, used to identify as bisexual, queer, gay/lesbian, straight, pansexual, asexual, omnisexual, try-sexual! :) It doesn't matter. All that matters is that we are gathering together in support of those who do identify as bisexual... and have fun doing so!
