Bianca Bethune is a multi-talented entertainment phenomenon who, at the young age of 18, is already building an impressive and eclectic resume as an actress, dancer and singer.
Bianca is currently putting finishing touches on her highly anticipated debut CD “Only Me,” a powerful combination of modern R&B, soul, and pop. Her unique vocal style and collaboration with producer ‘Automatic’ (P!nk, Nicole Scherzinger, James Brown) has resulted in a stunning first single Recipe of Love, which Bianca also co-wrote. The single released May 29 and will be followed with the full CD in July on independent label BatiR Entertainment.
Bianca’s training began when she was just a toddler. “I've been singing at events since I was a young child and always knew I'd want to do my own music one day. I think it's a combination of wanting an outlet to express myself and, at the same time, hoping to influence people with my music the way I've been influenced by the music and artists I listen to.” Among the top of Bianca’s musical influences are performers such as Rihanna, Vanessa Williams, Beyonce’, Aaliyah, and Kanye West to name just a few.
Starting at the age of nine, Bianca trained and performed with choreographer to the stars Rhapsody (Usher, Beyonce’). By the age of twelve, she was routinely performing in front of thousands of screaming fans as a member of the dance team for the NY Knicks, NY Liberty and New Jersey Nets. She also trained at the Broadway Dance Center, Geoffrey Ballet NYC, and won a tap dancing scholarship to the Debbie Allen Dance Academy in Los Angeles after being personally selected by noted tap dancer Jason Samuels.
Bianca had already landed numerous leading roles in theater and television when she booked her first feature film playing opposite Martin Lawrence in the box office hit “Bad Boys II’, as Lawrence’s daughter. “I was thrilled to work with Martin. He was fantastic! Our director, Michael Bay, was amazing. I could not have had a better experience for my first film.”
At the age of sixteen, as her career momentum began to escalate, Bianca relocated to Los Angeles with her mother who she cites as a major support, both professionally and personally. Instead of hanging out with friends, Bianca sought out new career opportunities, including assisting a leading commercial and video casting director. It was during this period, she had a serendipitous meeting with reputable entertainment manager, Rita Berger, founder of Rita B. Management. As Rita B. recalls, “When I met Bianca, I was not interested in adding anyone to my roster, but Bianca has that special ‘shine’ that radiates success and star quality. Her passion and focus, especially at such a young age, is not only captivating, it is inspiring. I immediately signed her.”
Rita B. has an extensive background within the music industry and was the perfect person to mentor Bianca as she spread her singing wings. “When I hooked up with Rita, it was initially for my acting career. But when I found out about her music expertise, I told her I really wanted to record a single or maybe even an album at some point." Bianca continued, "Rita was essential in putting everything in order - meaning producers, writers, studios, etc. - to make it happen and that's how my first CD was born."
While in Los Angeles, Bianca attends classes at The San Fernando Professional School, which is comprised of ‘working’ students from various entertainment and professional sports related fields. Bianca is president of the student body and also maintains a straight A average. A lover of math, she tutors 7th and 8th graders while continuing to regularly work in all entertainment mediums. Recently she has been seen on Zoey 101, Everybody Hates Chris, and Criminal Minds.
Bianca exudes confidence and elegance and has a classic soul style beyond her years. As she puts it, “my intention is to create and be part of work that has depth and meaning, to touch lives and inspire others to go after their dreams. I hope I can make others feel like they are not alone.”
Bianca is truly a beautiful and gifted performer and person -- inside and out.
