La Biblia es Mi Guia is a non-commercial advocacy campaign designed to encourage Latinos to read the Bible. Launched by the American Bible Society, the campaign’s slogan is “_____ is my passion, the Bible My Guide”, with the underlined word changing depending on the area of influence of the individual featured. To disseminate the campaign, ABS has partnered with several high-profile Latino personalities to develop PSA’s that would be featured in Christian and secular media outlets (magazines, newspapers, billboards, etc.). While campaign events and publicity will concentrate on reaching Latinos in strategic cities around the US- New York, Miami, and Los Angeles- partnerships with figures like Mariano Rivera and Juan Luis Guerra will allow the message of Bible engagement to be spread even further.
“La Biblia es Mi Guia” not only uses music and sports as a platform, with partners distributing Spanish language Scripture booklets during concerts and other events, but will also leverage the popularity of internet sites like My Space and You tube to bring the message to a more diverse audience. Overall, the American Bible Society hopes that by championing this innovative campaign, persons of all ages and backgrounds would be encouraged to experience the life-changing message of the Word by promoting it as the as the ultimate guide for their lives.
