About me:

The Bicycle Kitchen is a non-profit learning space run by volunteers who believe that bicycles are an ideal (and fun!) mode of transportation. Our mission is to make bicycles accessible to all people, to provide a welcoming space in which cyclists of all sorts can learn about building, maintaining and riding bikes, and to create community among bike riders.
The Kitchen appreciates donations from the community through out the year.

This is the real story of the Downtown Los Angeles area of the early 1900's, Prohibition, Speakeasys, Police & Government Corruption, the extensive underground network of tunnels, and one of the oldest and most historic bars in L.A. - the 115 year old King Eddy Saloon. See it all here and now.

Enjoy!!!

On Saturday, August 23, 2008 join in the community effort to support and raise awareness of those who have been targeted and punished for their political actions and beliefs.

RUNNING DOWN THE WALLS is a 5k non-competitive run/walk/bike in the beautiful Whittier Narrows Regional Park. Registered participants will receive food and entertainment and there will be water available at rest stops along the route. Since its creation, it has raised over $50,000 for these prisoners and will continue in these efforts. A portion of the proceeds will also go to El Centro Cultural de Mexico, a community center in Santa Ana dedicated to developing a cultural and educational bridge that brings together a variety of cultural projects from Mexico, Central and South America. Proceeds will also go to the Committee to Free Chip Fitzgerald, a support group dedicated to the release of Romaine 'Chip' Fitzgerald. Chip is the longest held Black Panther political prisoner in the United States.
