Who I'd like to meet:
If you do not see images in the slideshow above, refresh the page.
I was born in Butte, Montana.
A proud town known for its hard nosed rough sort of people. From there, I moved to a small town in Central Oregon where I spent a number of years before moving to Southern California. This is where I went to Canoga Park High School and then LA pierce Junior College.
I spent my last two years of college football at a division II school in Las Vegas New Mexico called New Mexico Highlands University. I finished playing football there and then coached for a few years when I met a guy teaching mma at the local rec. center. I was sold right away and drove to Albuquerque to meet Greg Jackson, who was already well known in the area.
I then decided to move to Albuquerque to train with him. That was in 2000 and I have been here every since.
I got my big break in 2005 when, after my training partner Diego Sanchez did so well on The Ultimate Fighter season 1 where I got the opportunity to be on the second season of the show. Although I didn't win, I learned a lot from both Rich Franklin and my training partners while at the same time developing lifelong friendships. The show was great for my career, and has given me the opportunity to become a full time fighter and to progress to where I am today.
I have had 9 fights now in the UFC and I am currently regarded as one of the best fighters in the world.
