Big Bad Irish's rock and roll show is now debuting on stages across New York and New Jersey. Featuring a powerful lineup with decades of experience, BBI brings a new flavor to rock's lost classics (from bands like Aerosmith, ZZTop, Jethro Tull & Jimi Hendrix) as well as the latest radio hits (Weezer, Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam & the Black Crowes).
The band is fronted by lead vocalist Dave Murphy, originally a drummer for such bands as Papa Smoke and Bastard Union, Dave sang lead from behind the kit for Soultree for the past three years before taking his place at the front of the stage. Scott McMahon plays lead guitar, restoring a musical partnership with Murphy that began in 1991. McMahon specializes in matching his sound to the artist he is covering, using a special brand of technology and craftsmanship he has personally built into his guitars. The two have performed in dozens of venues across NY and NJ. Shawn Murphy provides a new and solid pairing with McMahon on rhythm guiguitar - he is fresh off successful original projects, The Establishment and Northern Point, which appeared across Manhattan, Northern NJ and New England. Anchoring the band is bassist Glen Hempson and Drummer Gary Henning provides the backbone, bringing their formidable chops over from their most recent project, Damaged Goods, which performed across Central and Northern NJ.
The members of Big Bad Irish have performed at venues including The Lit Lounge, The Knitting Factory, The Elbow Room, Lamour's (NYC), The Cricket Club (Irvington, NJ), and the Stone Pony (Asbury Park, NJ).
