| About BIG BANG METHOD |
As explosive as the creation of the universe comes an equally explosive trio known as Big Bang Method.
BLAST! [2007-2008]
It's been three years since the release of BOOM! and now BBM is back with a new lineup and a plethura of new material. Joining Jim this time around is Nderim Elmazi on guitar/vocals and Ivan Ftorek on drums/vocals. The band is currently recording BLAST!, the new CD which is scheduled for a 2008 release date. Unlike BOOM!, which was an all instrumental project, the new CD will feature vocal performances from all three players. Drawing on many new influences, BLAST! will have the heartbeat of BOOM! and the dynacism of many of our favorite bands.
Current fans of the band will be pleasantly surprised.
BOOM! [2004-2007]
The original lineup was conceived by bassist, Jim Loretangeli and guitarist, Guthrie Matthews as an outlet for their original material. Together with drummer, Dave Gladding, they released their CD, BOOM! on the independent Etroneks label.
The all instrumental material on BOOM! can best be described as "Nu Prog Fusion" which fuses the power of Nu Metal, the arrangements of Progressive Rock and the complexity and rhythm of Jazz Fusion. When we started the project in January 2004, we decided to write and record live in the studio. Our music has a live energy that could only be recorded with the three of us in the same room playing together. On BOOM!'s fourteen tracks, you can clearly hear influences of Dream Theater, Al DiMeola, Santana and the Meters.
Guthrie plays six and seven string guitars while Jim fingers five and six string basses and a dabbling of keyboards as well. Dave uses an arsenal of vintage and modern drum kits and percussion. His power and finesse are the core attributes that drive Big Bang Method.
