Freelance musicians for a combined 25 years, Andrew Ogburn & Barnaby Gold have been performing together since 1998. Their work together includes supporting Betty Harris in 2006, supporting Eddie Bo in 2007, backing Kerri Simpson, and supporting Matt Walker & Ashley Davies. They have performed at the Mallacoota Easter Arts Festival and a variety of Melbourne venues, including The Cornish Arms, Prince Bandroom, The Corner Hotel, The Espy, Prohibition, The Brunswick Hotel, The Transit Lounge, Plan B, The Brunswick Green, and Wesley Anne. Their repertoire includes instrumental and vocal music spanning the entire history of southern American rhythm and blues, gospel, and funk. Lemonade and Solid are truly dedicated performers in the under-played New Orleans genre. You will hear them play the best-known tunes of Professor Longhair and Dr. John, plus other powerful songs from the Gospel, Blues, and R & B traditions. Andrew (Big Boy Lemonade) will amaze you with his piano wizardry, while Barnaby (Solid Gold) creates a rhythmic riot! Winners of the 2005 PBS Radio Band Prize, the pair decided not to just make a duo album, but to invite some of Australias best Blues and R & B artists to perform with them. Their debut CD (due for release in late 2006) features vocalists Ian Collard, Suzannah Espie, and Kerri Simpson, and saxophonists Paul Williamson and Bruce Sandell. This album is a collection of stunning, roots-driven performances.

Maybe you can help him get a few "after show" parties playing some solo piano or as a guest of another band? If you haven't already, please sign up for our weekly enews at www.BasinStreetRecords.com
Well... ashamed though I am to admit it (or not, as my page may suggest), I am inclined to watch a bit of trashy 2nd rate horrow now and then. (I mean the new "dawn of the dead", by the way, but that probably just makes things worse!) Thanks for adding me! And yes, I have recieved the repertoire, it looks great! Michael. PS I'm really diggin' those linear grooves at the moment, especially with the embellishments. Thanks.
