You can call it stepping out of the box, changing up the norm, or creatively overcoming the obstacles, and if this has been done, the world of music knows that it has Big Cee Jay’s name all over it. This is a man who will step outside and creatively change up that same box while still taking it to a whole ‘nother level of success. With his company Step Out Of Line Promotion- and Management, he triumphs daily. His brilliantly inventive business sense, strategic planning, determined work ethic, and fluent adaptability allow him to keep achieving his goals while knocking out the competition every time.
Big Cee Jay first discovered what effort it takes to be successful by observing his mother who single handedly raised him. He is the youngest of three and his mother is a loving woman who consistently worked two jobs to make ends meet. This was a beneficial lesson to Big Cee Jay as he has carried on the legacy of a high standard work ethic and with excellent precision. He has powerfully redefined what the music industry calls “grindin”.
Not only does his passion for hard work accomplish the greatest of tasks and motivate others, so does his phenomenal leadership abilities. Leadership skills can be hard to perfect but Big Cee Jay is a natural born leader who has mastered this ability. He rose as a child in the heart of St Petersburg, Florida where the neighborhood children noticed and looked up to him for this. He spent time studying Malcolm X and admired his qualities as a leader.
As a young man he knew what needed to be done and worked his way up from working 2 jobs himself, with a hustle on the side, to being a supervisor for a multi-million dollar company by the age of 23. He is now a very well established and highly requested promoter and manager of prime artists. He also owns and operates two prosperous sound-scan music stores based in Florida and Georgia and has kept this venture booming for 8 years now.
Big Cee Jay is a notably and strong leader with vast experience and has been called upon to manage and promote some of the strongest musical acts in the Southeastern United States. He currently represents Napoleon of Beat Matrix, one of Florida’s best and most recognized producers. Big Cee Jay has also worked with rap artist “Blood Raw” as Senior A&R and has greatly contributed to this artist being signed by CTE. He also represents the Georgia based group the “S.E.GA Boys” who have recently won the “Indie Album of the Year” award in 2006. He recently began working with a promising female artist Shyzte, whose career is already on a progressive roll due to Big Cee Jay’s management and promotional talents. Big Cee Jay’s newest client is Mul-Ty, a first-class male R&B vocalist from Georgia. His goal is to take an artist from ground zero to the highest level of success in the music business and he is doing exactly that.
Because of his “Step Outta Line” style of business Big Cee Jay has been recognized and honored with the “Movers and Shakers” award. He was also nominated for the “Promoter of the Year” award and “Street Team of the Year Award” at the SEA Awards. He has also been featured in countless print articles by: The St Petersburg Times, Hood Magazine, Ozone Magazine, New Power Magazine, The Weekly Challenger, and more. He is known for “getting the streets talking” with buzz of a high decibel.
Never a follower, this man is a supreme originator. He was the first to effectively produce (2) fruitful music conference in Pinellas County Florida. He has also assembled a crew of heavy hitters in the music industry and formed GTP also known as Grind Time Productions. This network contains lawyers, DJs, owner’s of music stores, magazine publishers, and more. He designed this network to help build the independent artists careers.
We can only expect and continue to see amazing accomplishments achieved by Big Cee Jay. He is a God fearing man who recognizes that without God, nothing would be possible. He has been tested many times and even after the devastating loss of his brother, he was able to move forward and continue building his own legacy. He understands that when 110% is required as challenges arise, he gives 113% to ensure a positive result. Poetstock! Never before has this been done, and hopefully it will be successfully repeated after this all over the world, again and again…. Our aim is to bring together poets from all over, who produce all genres of poetry for a night of mingling, poetry, shameless self promotion….
