Last year the Frankfurt based record label BigCityBeats succeeded to cause the biggest dance sensation since many years: for many weeks the Guru Josh Project was blocking the top position of the European Billboard single charts with their über-hit “Infinity 2008”. Besides numerous Gold and Platinum Records from all over Europe and Canada the tune was just honoured as “Best House / Garage Track” at the International Dance Music Awards 2009 in Miami. The official video clip at YouTube has been watched amazingly for over 64 million times and is one of the most favoured YouTube music clips globally.

Of course a hymn like “Infinity 2008” raised the bar sky high for all ambitions to follow up to this. Since they did not want to disappoint the expectations of their fans, the guys from the Guru Josh Project took thier time to present a well considered and well engineered new single. For this purpose they gather once again a bunch of recent high grade producers and remixers to assist them to follow Infinitys mighty footsteps.

The main version – an electro house bomb extraordinaire – was crafted by Niels Van Gogh and Dave Ramone. Niels Van Gogh made some noise last year with his remix of Deliriums “Silence” which topped both the German Dance Charts and Beatport sale charts plus won the award for “Best Progressive House Track” at Beatport. The second remix to keep an eye on comes from Funkerman well know for his major hit “Speed Up” and running the worlwide renowned label Flamingo Recordings with his partner Fedde Le Grand. More mixes are contributed by Nick Corline (Sweet Dreams), Marc Lime & K Bastian (new signing on Kontor) and the Guru Josh Project members Darren Bailie and Snakebyte themselves.

The King is dead – long live the King! The tragic loss of Michael Jackson, the biggest pop star of all time, caused mourning and sorrow all over the world. But inside the hearts of his countless fans his music will live on forever and continues to cover mankind with love and happiness. In honour of “The King of Pop” the German record label BigCityBeats in collaboration with renowned house producer D.O.N.S. will release an official cover version of one of his most remarkable tracks: Earth Song.

Based on a catchy melody, the lyrics evoke a deep sadness and emotional pain that is a stark reminder of the on-going environmental and poverty issues in the world. While ‘Earth Song’ was not released in the US as single, the track became Michaels very first 1 hit in the German singles chart and is still his best selling release in the UK.

Oliver Goedicke, better known as D.O.N.S., is a veteran of the German house scene. His debut single ‘Drop the Gun’ was the very first release on famous Kontor Records in the mid 90s and found strong support across clubs and radio stations which led to an entry into the German singles chart. This first strike was succeeded by a row of follow ups like ‘Pump up the Jam’, ‘Big Fun’ or hits on his own label Kingdom Kome Cuts like ‘Night Train’ and ‘You Used to Hold Me’.

Whilst his remix talents were called upon by artists’ such as Bob Sinclar, Dirty South, Roger Sanchez and Erick Morillo. With the release of ‘Earth Song’ D.O.N.S. becomes part of the BigCityBeats family, which will be complemented this autumn by DJ Sammy who contributes an igniting re-rub to the D.O.N.S. mix edit. DJ Sammy gained legendary status in Spain with his popular MyClubroom radio show and his weekly gigs on Ibiza and Mallorca. Further remixes come from Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Dave Manna & Marco Demark, Darren Bailie, Marc Lime & K Bastian and Blacktron.

An active international ambassador for HIV/AIDS charity Dance4Life; a role he shares alongside artists such as Tiesto and Fedde Le Grand, D.O.N.S. and BigCityBeats have teamed up with Dance4Life for the release of the record as a way of helping to expand the vision of the charity’s work of inspiring, mobilising and uniting young people around the world to push back HIV and AIDS. This partnership will see D.O.N.S. and BigCityBeats donating a percentage of the income generated by the sale of ‘Earth Song’ to Dance4Life.

On the contrary, since the overwhelming success of “Infinity 2008“ the founding member of Guru Josh Project is as busy as never before. The worlwide hit catapulted him with a thunderclap straight into the premier league of international top acts and is touring the world as an in demand DJ since then.

But also concerning new productions the likeable Welsh and BigCityBeats artist is on the go at the moment. With the new Guru Josh Project Single „Crying In The Rain“ being released just a few days ago, he adds fuel to the fire with his second solo single called „Silence“ to heat up the dancefloor.

Leaving the anthem like pop sound of his debut “Protect Your Mind 2009“ behind Darrens new track is heading for a more clubby terrain. The collaboration with the uprising producer team Marc Lime & K Bastian (remixes for Rosenstolz, Klee, Sash!, D.O.N.S. and Guru Josh Project and first own release „Bizarre“ on Kontor Records) resulted in a spherical club tune whose androgynous vocals guarantee big catchy tune potential.
