"Garbed in a white lace, floor-length gown, Atlanta-based ecdysiast Talloolah Love, looking for all the world like a zaftig reincarnation of Amy Semple McPherson preparing to lead the faithful to glory, adjusts her corset stays." "Some highlights of the evening: Talloolah Love sheds her saintly white garb in favor of an S&M outfit replete with pasties and riding crop." -Judy Cole, ..Creative Loafing, Charlotte Published 08.15.07 ..

"The SYRENS OF THE SOUTH have come a long way from their debut at the Highland Inn Ballroom and Lounge. They've quickly become one of Atlanta's more popular burlesque troupes, enforcing healthy female body self-image with their plus-size performers – not all, but most – and fondness for the striptease songs of the good old days. The Syrens start their first anniversary party Sat., AUG. 23, with the troupe's first-ever student showcase, and then follow with performances by Talloolah Love, Vagina Jenkins, Reneá Le Roux, Veronica Lashe and Hepcat Mike. John Carney, the self-proclaimed world's worst comic, shares emcee duties with Sabrina Pandora. The show also includes a charity raffle for the group's first nonprofit target, the Information Project. $5-$15. Showcase, 7 p.m.; party, 9:30 p.m. Relapse Theatre, 380 14th St. www.syrensofthesouth.com."

What is Talloolah's Love? "Why, to create something beautiful of course!"
Talloolah Love, dubbed "The Mata Hari of Burlesque," is one of the "Glamouratti" of the modern Burlesque scene – her passion for the art of burlesque lies in the glitz and classic glamor of the 30's and 40's. She started doing burlesque in November, 2003 as a bellydancer in an Atlanta Based troupe. Prior to taking the stage professionally, she had many years of bellydance and performance training from teachers from all over the world, She still melds most of her work with her bellydance, giving her a truly unique style of raw sex appeal blended with coy undertones in the sweet spirit of "could take her home to mamma if she'd only keep her clothes on" style. To her, that is the very definition of classic burlesque – giving them almost everything and leaving them with a fond memory and a desire to see more.
She is one half of Syrens of the South Productions, LLC. She is a natural font of ideas and has handled the press, the photographers, and the charity relations of every Syrens production and has contributed her expertise in multiple shows with resounding success.
Her touch with makeup brush, and comb, with liberal doses of hair products are a great attribute to any stage production and she teaches regular classes in quick glam for the modern day lady or gent. She is the current moderator of the Atlanta Burlesque and Cabaret club, they meet the first Wednesday of every month at the James Joyce, and is an avid promoter of not only her group but southern burlesque as a whole.
She won first runner up in Horsepower in the Park's First Annual Pinup Contest in 2007 and was also featured in the Boston Herald for her first competitive performance at the Boston Burlesque Expo. She has had multiple honorable mentions in Creative Loafing Atlanta and Charlotte, and has also been featured in the Tampa Bay Times, and Bust magazine.
Talloolah was chosen to perform at the Coney Island Rockabilly Festival in 2008 and performed for the Asheville Americana, Burlesque & Sideshow Festival 2008 and will again in 2009. She will be performing this year on the main stage at Heavy Rebel Weekend 2009 along with some of the biggest names in southern burlesque.
