Big Daddy O is one of those rare blues finds. For the past 30 years he has rocked audiences in the Louisiana/ Mississippi Delta. His approach to performing songs makes each song sound like his own, and everyone who has the pleasure of hearing him loves his big beautiful voice and good-natured presentation. At 6 foot 6, the Big Daddy has a commanding stage presence that no one ever forgets. Whether it is as a solo act or with his kickin blues band, The Big Daddy O Revue, no audience member leaves unhappy and are always ready for more.
Big Daddy O was raised in New Orleans, LA where he got his start as a singer in his familys barbershop quartet. At the age of 19 he became a street musician in the French Quarter singing and playing guitar, learning everything he could. He quickly became a favorite at all of the Bourbon Street clubs. A little later he met his wife, Gretchen, and decided to slow down and move out into the country to raise his loving family.
Now, signed as a Rabadash Records recording artist, Big Daddy O has garnered the attention that he deserves. Offbeat Magazine recognized him as the Best Emerging Blues Artist in 2002 and he has been asked to play at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival ever since. With two great albums under his belt, Thats How Strong My Love Is and Deranged Covers, Big Daddy O is ready to get his music and soul out there. Born to the Blues, Big Daddy O Tufts never fails to please!
