Joel, I hope you're as excited about Blackest Night as I am. I think it's going to be the book to watch as the DC dead characters return as Black Lanterns to kill the living. It's going to be a wild story, starting on July 15!

Hey cappy! I know iggy's arent your fav lol, but i got my 1st euthanasia decision to make. 6yr old male crested hybrid. Owner allowed complete dominance. Grew aggresive @ sexual maturity & for a year was self mutilating, face bashing 2 get her away. He split his face 2 the bone. He's gone from tube feeding 2 60cc syringe & hand feed. But aggresion getting worse. My thought was 2 remove the flaps that wnt granulate & cause pain(under isoflurine) & give him a chance 2 see if he does better wo the pain as he's re ripping bc the 2 scale flaps over the front of the mouth wnt granulate & do cause a pain response. Ryans fear is after care w his already aggresive behavior & is seeming very depressed. He feels it'll be a waste of time & more suffering on the iggy's part, & thinks i should do the humane thing. Any suggestions from my favorite herp man? Hope all is well on ur end.

Capt Joels Journal March 9, 2009

Another day in the big city, lives continued
in a mindless frenzy.
Like a colony of ants, each with a purpose,
all thinking their existence the most
important.

Something had stirred up the mound, a hard
kick to the pyramid of sand thousands
called home. The safety and doldrums of
existence was now on fire.

First one and then the other, they fed on
what had been heaped on the mound.
Like sugar they all took a piece and ran
back to tell the others of its sweetness.

Sweet, exciting, reaching deep in the blood
and causing their bodies to yearn for more.
It was a craving the smartest and quickest
fed on first. Their mouths like antenna frantic
to touch another’s and share the information.

This sugar, this Watchmen they call it,
had been sprinkled across the world.
Every mound from the crack in big city
sidewalk to the field in a rural dirt road
was going to feed.

There was nothing I could do about it. I sat
back in my chair and breathed deep the musty
smell of old pulp and ink. They new the way,
many had been here before. Soon every Comic
shop would feel the impact. It is my job to
take care of them, one at a time or in mass I
will give them what they want, what they need.

I need them as much as they need me,
a twisted symbiosis.
They will feed with their eyes until their
souls are bloated.
After all, unlike me, they are only human.
