About me:

Hello, and thank you for dropping by my profile. I welcome your messages and comments but I am fairly busy, and squeezed for online time. I will respond to friend requests and personal messages as soon as I can, but can only respond to comments infrequently. Thanks for your support and friendship!

ARTIST: I am a visual artist who creates collage, photographs and paintings inspired by Sacred Geometry, the Golden Section, and the fractal structure of nature. I believe that the true purpose of art is spiritual, and the goal of an artist should be to create Proper Art as a shaman.

RECENT ART NEWS - JULY 2009: 2 microphotos were selected as finalist images in the 2009 Nikon Small World competition - final award results TBA in October. I also was a finalist last year in the 2008 Small World competition. The image seen below is touring with other winning images in an 18-city traveling exhibition during 2009. AUTUMN 2009: The academic journal Cybernetics and Human Knowing, will publish a collection of my images on the cover and in their upcoming issue. DECEMBER 2008: A 12-month exhibition ended of 12 framed pieces for the City of Aurora, Colorado, Art in Public Places Program.

MUSICIAN: I have played guitar for over 35 years and love to create and play music. You can hear my current and older recorded music on this profile and my MySpace music profile. I love to improvise and jam and play a textural style of music that blends influences from Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Brian Eno, Neil Young, Ry Cooder, Jon Hassell, Steve Tibbetts, Steve Reich, Robert Rich, and David Torn. Recently, I have been exploring musical collages and loop-based music using Acid Pro software. I also play drums and keyboards, and have a home recording studio.

SCIENTIST: I made a living as an environmental research chemist for over 34 years and published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals and government technical reports. I am currently working as a consultant and have a company, Craft Geochemistry Consulting, LLC. My research experience included environmental chemistry, fate and transport of contaminants, trace metal speciation and bioavailability, mercury in the environment, toxicological chemistry, and the geochemistry of dam seepage.

Who I'd like to meet:

Artists who think Kandinsky was right about the spiritual in art. Musicians who can improvise and jam in multiple styles. Creative people who love art and music. Kindred spirits and collaborators. Wealthy patrons, art brokers, and gallery owners interested in selling my work.
