Liz bought her first guitar about 7 years ago while living in New York City, along with the Ernie Ball beginner book which at some point became too frustrating - I mean really, the concentration it took Liz to pick the notes of "Mary Had A Little Lamb" left her feeling like the salesman at the music shop might be right - "You can't buy a Martin as your first guitar, it's gonna end up furniture!". "Well", Liz thought, "who doesn't like beautiful furniture?". She dusted that furniture daily and in the meantime learned the fingerings of a few chords when suddenly, TADAA, out popped the (fraternal) twins; "Oh and How Now Baby Yeah, Yeah" and "Will You Will?" "What a relief", Liz remembers, "those babies were seriously overdue. . ."
After 9/11, Liz relocated to the Netherlands and found herself surrounded by a supportive and nurturing community (and Jenever) which gave her the confidence to bring her music to the stage. Some years later, an early mid-life crisis brought Liz back to the States...
"I used to share the blame for this mess with Jaap van Teeckelenburgh but Jaap's still in Holland playing chess and transporting tourists while I've relocated back to my hometown, Cleveland feeling quite sure I am now and always have been in the right place at the right time - Amen."
