Bigger Thomas continues to keep crowds moving and grooving to their patented version of reggae ska that includes a heavy dose of traditional and 2-Tone ska thrown in for good measure. The band reflects the cultural diversity of the city they call home with members who have roots in the NYC metropolitan area as well as Haiti, Jamaica and the UK. Best known for their upbeat ska-pop song "Ska in My Pocket" they now play a diverse style encompassing ska, reggae, calypso, punk, african and latin rythyms. They have had the pleasure of performing alongside the English Beat, Colin Hay of Men At Work, Pato Banton, Jimmy Cliff, Yellowman, Burning Spear, Bad Manners, The Selecter, Special Beat, De La Soul, Bim Skala Bim, The Alarm and The Toasters. The band will release their new 10-song album 'Steal My Sound' as a digital download and on CD in May 2010. The album was recorded at Version City Studios and produced/mixed by King Django. The art work was designed by John 'Teflon' Sims who helped to design album covers and art work for The Specials, The Selecter and other 2- Tone bands. The band's other albums 'We Wear The Mask', 'Resisting Success' and "Bigger Thomas" a CD/DVD reissue of their first out-of-print LP are also available online at itunes.com and CD Baby.     The native-born Jamaican Marvin Anthony Burnett aka Sledgy was born in St. James at September, 27th in 1973.
    At the age of sixteen he came with his brother to Germany to stay with his mother and live a better life. Shortly afterwards young Anthony got down with rapping.
    To do music brings a lot of joy to him. Music is a great pleasure for Sledgy; he feels committed to make music.

    It helped him through his hard time after his entry into Germany which was totally foreign to him at that time.
    After he had rapped a long time for himself to take his mind off his worries, Burnett signed a contract with the label Power Jam Records.
    With conclusion of the treaty his music career begins.

    Under the name of Marvin Burnett he performs onstage (YOU) two times and at Funworld, Bodensee. Furthermore his music appeared on Radio K?ln and Radio 7.
    For two years he has been under contract to Power Jam Records which is known as GUMAK Media e.K. today.

    The Jamaican Burnett is also charitable. He gave many benefit performances, among others at K?lner Zoo, in a retirement home and not least at town hall in Cologne- Kalk.
