About me:
Plenty of New Yorkers want to lessen their share of environmental burden, but simply don't know where to begin. The Big Green Apple: Your Guide to Eco-Friendly Living in New York City provides simple ways you can make a difference. With it, you'll discover a comprehensive set of tips and strategies of how to adopt a lower-impact life without compromising your comfortable and cool urban lifestyle. You'll also find profiles of organizations, businesses, and individuals around the city committed to bringing NYC a brighter shade of green, as well as a comprehensive directory of green goods and services throughout the five boroughs.

Covering energy consumption, food, household products, transportation, events, clothing, recycling, recreation, and much more, The Big Green Apple presents easy-to-understand information about the environmental implications of typical city life, and offers pratical advice for improving one's own relationship with the city's greater ecology.

Find out more at: www.greenappleguide.com

Who I'd like to meet:
"By most accounts, New York is already America's greenest city, simply because people live in smaller homes and rely on public transit. But with the help of Ben Jervey's comprehensive guide, New Yorkers can now take that unconcious environmentalism and extend it with a few powerful modifications of their ways of life. If they do, then someday Gotham will join places like Oslo and Stockholm as truly ecological metropolises." -Bill McKibben, author The End of Nature

"Ben Jervey's book is the bible of green living in New York City. With this book you can 'be the change' instead of whining about the status quo." -Ben Harwood, President, Eco-Logic.com

Thank you for the friend add and the support!

DID YOU KNOW...
Did you know that the ocean houses most of the oxygen we need to breathe, is a food source that can feed the world, and provides the ingredients for today's and tomorrow's medicines?

THE SITUATION TODAY
Currently, modern threats of climate change, coastal vulnerability and endangered ecosystems have put our arctic and marine environments, as well as our own existence, in great peril. Because of these dangers, we are now confronted with one of the most serious environmental challenges of our time: global warming and an impending ocean crisis.

Pacem in Maribus XXXII (Peace in the Oceans) - Waves of Change is a global campaign that will break new ground by engaging women and youth in addressing climate change, ocean threats and sustainable ocean governance.

..

Thanks for becoming a Friend..:)  Welcome back to our page where you maybe  at some stage also will consider contributing by purchasing a few trees a month in making our Globe Better a better place for all of us..:)  As a new company we need both ordinary members, supporters, investors, co workers etc. The investment we offer are trees and as a consequence a positive impact on global warming, and a Better Globe for all of us !! Planting trees will stop erosion, contradict climate changes and also support poor farmers becoming independent, as well as raise funds for  school building in Africa. We do not believe in just charity, but we do believe strongly in "self-help" and will support poor people in Africa based on principles of profitability. This way they can be self-sustained and able to work themselves out of poverty. We are doing this through treeplanting, agriculture and education. Please visit us on Myspace to know more, see photos, films etc. Thank you again for your support !

Just dropping by to give a green hello. 50 gallons of free waste vegetable oil saved me $200 per month commuting. Also reduced fossil fuel consumption and saved a load of emissions. Just doing my part to save money, I mean… the environment.

Hey Ben
WALDEN on Public TV, Radio, Movie Theatres and DVD

WALDEN on Public TV, Radio, Movie Theatres and DVD

Oct 24 2007 5:06 PM

Thanks for joining Team Walden.

"Walden: The Ballad of Thoreau" is an educational performance play about the final two days Henry David Thoreau spent in his cabin before leaving Walden Pond. On EARTH DAY 2007 over 4,000 colleges, schools, home schools and community theaters in nine nations performed the play in celebration of Thoreau, his writings about nature, and our earth.

The Walden Play, lesson plans, posters, directors notes and more are made available to schools FREE OF CHARGE. The new updated 2008 Walden project is being presented again for Earth Day 2008 in cooperation with the Earth Day Network, American Forests, Mother Earth News, and EarthCARE Canada.

This is an amazing all-volunteer effort to reintroduce Thoreau's passion for the earth in a time of global warming and oil wars. The sole source of underwriting for this effort comes from the sale of the new "WALDEN: The Earth Song Collection" album.

You can help! Here's how:

o Become TEAM WALDEN'S friend and add it to your list of top friends!
o Help get the word out! Forward this message on to your friends. Send out bulletins. Contact local educators about presenting the play for free.
o Add one of the Walden songs or play clips to your MySpace player for free.
o Invite your community to join TEAM WALDEN as explained on our website.

We are hoping that this MySpace page will bring together Earth-friendly, eco-conscious minds to discuss and learn more about the writings of Thoreau and other environmental topics through the use of the play and album.

Please email me if you have any questions.

Thank you,
