Big John has been in the music for 45 years. He was originally from Manhattan Kans. A friend of his was going to K.C. for a Drumming job and asked john to come along. John got hired for the job,he ended up staying a year. So he was introduced to K.C.,and after a number of years he has put his mark in Music. He has played every venue in K.C., and has opened for Johnny Winter, KoKo Taylor, B.B. King, Little Milton, Artie "Blues Boy"White, to name a few. He has played with Chick Willis, Vernon Garrett, Abb Locke, Buster Benton, Johnny Adams,Roy Gaines, Louisiana "Red", Harry Hypolite and "TINY TIM". He has jammed with the likes of Sugar Blue, Mark Sallings, Tinsley Ellis Lee Oskar Tobey Keith, Kenny Neal, Larry McCray, and the great and the lovely Linda Hopkins. He has been around.... Big John is also featured on "Big Daddy"Harry Hypolite..s CD "Louisiana Country Boy", which was up for an W.C. Handy Award for best new artist in 2002. He also performed with Harry at the Monterey Blues Festival twice. Big John is also the first entertainer to ever go into the audience and sing at the Festival. He is the ultimate entertainer on stage. He has said that no matter how you feel, or how ill you are, or what kind of day you..ve had you OWE the audience that . And that is exactly what the man does. He loves what he does! Music is and unforgivin "Mistriss". She can be real good to you, or be hateful..
