Welcome to the home of Big Life Records. Big Life was initially founded in 1987 by Jazz Summers and Tim Parry and soon became one of the most influential dance labels of the time and within 10 years had achieved 50 top 40 records in the UK alone before the company was sold to the major record company, Universal. During this time they helped launch and establish the careers of artists such as Coldcut, Yazz, A Man Called Adam, The Orb as well as breaking acts such as De La Soul & Naughty By Nature in the UK. Big Life enjoyed it's first no.1 with Yazz 'The Only Way Is Up' in 1988.
Fast forward to 2009 and the label has been relaunched and hopes to deliver the same quality of music that it did originally. The first three releases saw some of the classic of the past remixed for today's clubland. Blue Pearl's 'Naked In The Rain' was remixed by Dancing Divaz, Sidechains, Riley & Durrant and Daley Padley. Next up was Yazz's 'The Only Way Is Up' with mixes coming from Robbie Rivera, Ben Preston & Nathan C, Goshi Goshi, Tastemakers and Soulmakers. The last of the batch was Ultraviolet 'Kites' which saw Pete Gooding, Dean Newton & Huggy and Ben Preston.
The first original production signed to Big Life in 2009 was Majestic 'In The VIP' which was produced by The Wideboys. Support from 1xtra, Radio 1, Kiss, Galaxy plus huge club support with it reaching 2 in the Musicweek Upfront Club Chart and 2 in the Coolcuts Chart.
