The Big Mouth Cooperative is a modular eight musicians, unified in rebirthing the mad, toppling energy of both 50s underground bebop jazz, and 70s tight funk. The band formed around the original rhythm section trio of Aaron Jossart (organ), Nick Mader (bass) and Alan Spearot (drums), and quickly earned a regular musical residency at Cafe Montmartre. *** Drawing on a large traditional and original catalog, the BMC live show uses musical chemistry and energy within the loose, spontaneous ethic of jazz. The result is an utterly kinetic and danceable rhythm section behind free, visceral instrumental solos. *** Naturally, the band's forthcoming debut album is a live set recording, capturing the energy from their Montmartre residency.
