Big Orbit's Soundlab is an off-site venue dedicated to the music, media and performance of Big Orbit Gallery. Located near Buffalo's waterfront in the historic Dun Building, Soundlab references club culture in order to collapse traditional presentation methods, but challenges the contemporary entertainment status quo through its dedication to unconventional, experimental, genre-elusive and avant-garde work. Big Orbit Gallery is an artist-run not-for-profit cultural center dedicated to transcultural, multidisciplinary explorations of contemporary art issues, with its primary focus being the art and artists of Western New York.

Are you interested in reading, radical politics, social awareness, deep discussions, challenging forms of prejudice and privilege, looking to get involved in a low risk activity that can help ourselves grow, as well as build a community?
I am looking to get people interested and involved in some type of reading/discussion group. Some ideas which have been formed: - consensus based group dynamic if/when needed - rotating participation with titles and topics chosen (i.e. different people select titles/topics and draw up questions, talking points etc.) - looking to have discussions that stem from not only reading various articles, books, zines etc. but also would like to have movies, or just a topic with no reference to a title. - a light and friendly atmosphere with mutual respect, where all are welcome to participate
These are just loose ideas and welcome to being developed by a group of people to fit our needs. One does not have to be extremely well read or aware to be involved. All are welcomed to participate.
I am hoping to set up a general meeting of those interested sometime in the next couple of months, shortly after I am moved in to the city. If you would like to be involved or participate, please get in touch by emailing reclaiming_lives@riseup.net

December 27 2008 at 9pm, you are cordially invited to the Rebel Radio Community Jam at Broadway Joe's in Buffalo NY.
All in attendance will receive a free copy of Rebel radio 45 the new double CD from DTR....DJ Anubus will be back in the house, Billy Drease will be hosting, and over a dozen acts will grace the stage.
Admission is free, we kindly ask that you bring a non-perishable food donation for Food Bank of WNY; and we will have plenty of contests and giveaways from New Era Caps, Scion, DTR45, Buffalo First and more!!!
-----------------
In an industry short on creative marketing and sales figures, DTR45 has once again pushed the envelope, taking the already innovative Rebel Radio compilation series and doubling down on the effort. Rebel Radio 4, announced last month, will be joined simultaneously with Rebel Radio 5, a move which pays homage to the 12 year label’s recent re-brand from DeepThinka to DTR “45”.
This free two disc collection continues the Rebel Radio tradition of fighting back against the corporate “nickel and dime” measures that music consumers endure and at the same time works to develop a market for hip hop talents both large and small in recognition. The talent featured this time around is remarkable: from locally based artists like Edreys, Fresh Guac and Q-Boogie, to mainstream names like Blu, Camp Lo, Styles P, and Pete Rock.
WE HAVE NEW RAVES AND EVENTS FOR YOU FOR CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR MORE CUMING THIS AS WELL......ALL WITHIN THE UK AT THE MOMENT, SO IF YOUR FLYING OVER, YOU NOW HAVE SOME WERE TO GO..... ENJOY YOU HOILDAY.........
