what comes to your mind when you think of black?
do you think
of chains,
cages
and enraged slaves
battling for the rights
birthed to them,
fighting for freedom their ancestors
before yours earned for them,
does your mind ponder
notions of moses
being black...
do you think of pioneers
or apes,
a system twisting us into their visions
of monkeys running
thru the wildlife of Afrika
banshees calling us brothers,
us in rectangular cages
with arangatang faces
is that depicted
in the unwritten diaspora of blacks...
do you witness greasy hands
banging drums
beating ghetto noises
at decibals too loud for european cars
and can you hear those
loud cuss words
disturbing neighbors
next to your neighborhoods
from hoodlums
with tropical fruit stained lips,
is that what you feel
when you close your eyes
and think of black,
or are your eyes closed everyday.

Rather than UNITE against Police Brutality, rather MURDER... And BUSH don't care, Bloomberg don't care, Ray Kelly (NY Police Commissioner) don't care, so who the phukk does... Do YOU ? i'm a cool ass brother from Queens with dreams of selling poet-treez, giving crooks books to read instead of fiending for more money schemes... i got plans of ghettin' my people out da ghetto but keeping that black love strong, keeping our fingers and hearts crossed in anticipation that we will all make it, a legit way of bringing home the bacon... sitting back with a brew, spittn' verbs and twistin' words on paper, thug capers with street flavor... i believe that knowledge is a rear exquiste gem, & the entire universe is the oyster, control your own destiny... cuban linx and a shorty with a fatty 4 Life, wife women and stop sinnin', refrain from perverse profanity and read scriptures that maintain self sanity, the struggle ain't nothing without a cause ya HEARD...
divide words and meanings, separate the humans from the demons you seeing, seek love and knowledge of self by walking the fine paths of righteousness, and in turn wyzdym will overturn the prejudices of the system, physical prison is equivalent to mental quarantine and the drama means between the two, i'm telling you my people needed more than freedom externally but successfully internally, and eternally we strive to fight the fight for unity, in the workplace, the streets, boulevards & avenues and if as a people we choose, we can out do the Jews revenue, cuz since i was a snot nose i rose and rose quick to the tip top, and hip hop won’t stop so fuck the media and what society sells, if we yell, our voices can be heard, rather if we HoLLa, and our dollars are just as green as theres, our skin may be darker so the path to success is harder, the path is more worth it when we earn it, burn bridges and you’ll stay on one side of life forever, stack cheese but don’t chase cheddar and remember, no matter how much thug’s cuss, juggs lust, slugs buss and lovers fuss keep GOD in ya Heart, in Black we trust cuz when shit hit the fan, man all we got is us.
