The Press Release
Westminster, CA - Big Saigon is doing a follow up to the highly successful ‘Big Saigon by Night.’ The much anticipated event will be slightly different from the original, taking place at the very intimate Café Thuy Duong (7631 Westminster Blvd #C, Westminster CA, 92683) and fundraising for the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF).
Recommended for mature audiences (ages 14+), this event looks to raise money PCRF, but the main focus is to promote the CD release of Nam Ninja’s debut album. The event will feature many of Asian America’s up and coming performers from various genres including Hip Hop, Spoken Word/Poetry, Rock/Alternative, Folk/Soul, and Nam Ninja’s unique Rhythm and Flow style.
The event is a great achievement for Asian artists who are shunned by the American media. The organizers David ‘Applesauce’ Tran and Nam Ninja hope that their latest event will once again unite the community and provide a space for Asian performers to express themselves. The benefits of this event include:
• Fundraising for the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation
• A space for Asian American Artists to perform
• The breaking of stereotypes and perceptions placed on Asians by the American media
• A night of entertainment for everyone that is different, affordable, and for a great cause
• A place with an intimate atmosphere where people can meet, have a good time, and relax
In their own words:
“We had such a great time at the last event and people were extremely excited and supportive. This next event is very special to us, because we are not only promoting Nam Ninja’s CD Debut, but also we get to perform with many of our friends and it takes place at Café Thuy Duong, the original venue for One Mic where many of us met. It is a very special occasion for us, and we appreciate from the bottom of our hearts the support of the community and hope to put on another great show for everyone. Remember that we’re not just Big Saigon, but the whole city is. Much Love, One Love.”
The event is $7 and part of the proceeds will go to the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF)
Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF) is a non profit organization founded in 1982 to improve the care, quality of life and survival rate of children with malignant diseases. (For more info visit http://www.pcrf-kids.com)
