Kalisima aka Karizma has been around the New Zealand hip-hop scene
for almost 10 years, starting as a b-boy in late 98 he gave up the
floor to pursue his passion as an mc. Since then he has never looked
back with five of his own mix tapes and a little over 15 guest appearances including Busta Rhymes, Black Eyed Peas, Cypress Hill and 50cent.
In 2007 along with Surkiss and Basic, they established there own indie
imprint in Red Corner Records where Kalisima injects his skill and
experience through artist and representation, event promotion
and of course music direction. With all this to take on board, as well as promoting Christchurch’s first underground monthly Capitol
Punishment and working on his own record, its not hard
to tell why Kalisima is considered one of the hardest working
mc's in the south island. His drive and ambition have helped
fuel the flames that has given the south island some much
needed attention over the past 4 years. His music has
been described as both honest, hard hitting and technically
brilliant, but you be the judge!
