In this day and age Hip-Hop is at an all time high and low. Some say the music is dead due to a lack of fan support and quality music but others will tell you it’s simply time for new talent, fresh music, and an original sound. With that being said, Kyle “Big Skeem” Kister feels he is more than qualified to bring all three 3 qualities to the game plus many more. The 23 year old Korean rapper who resides in the small city of Lancaster P.A. Has created quite a buzz for himself over the past 4 fours. After dropping his first independent mixtape back in 06” entitled “By Any Means Necessary”with the help of long time friend, DJ Herk. Big skeem joined forces with CEO and artist Geolani Grandz and gladly accepted an invitation to join forces with the Indie label Team AFFicial. After a year straight of recording and collaborating with both underground and major artists as well as being placed on mixtapes from DJ’s such as DJ Whoo Kid (G-Unit), DJ Lust, DJ Kool Kid, DJ Radio (Streetsweepers), Dub Floyd (Justo Award Winner), DJ Diggz and over 200 more. It was safe to say the industry had finally began to pay attention to small town rapper. Fast forward to July 08”
Big Skeem dropped his second and most talked about CD to date, entitled “CERTIFED”. A 24 track street album featuring artists such as the late Stack Bundles (Riot Squad/Dipset Byrd Gang), Peedi Crakk (State Property), Freeway, S-One (Bang Bang Boogie), Bynoe (Tha Riot Squad), Geolani Grandz, Rain, and the legendary hookster D.V. Alias Khryst. Along with some of the hottest unsigned production from beat makers like Metro Beats, Fresh P (Creator of the lead single “Get Paid”), Casa One, DJ Herk, Majik, Sean Ross, Lokken Load Ent. And many more. While the project has received an enormous street and Internet buzz from sites Rapmullet.com, Hiphipdx.com, and track features on both Hiphopgame.com and Allhiphop.com. Individual records off the CD began popping up on Sirius satellite radio, Comcast Music Choice, and Central PA. Top 40 radio’s 99.3 kiss FM. With all of that under his belt recognition seemed inevitable. After being nominated three times at Central PA’s Hip hop awards in 07” & 08” for the categories Best male artist, Best Mixtape artist and Best New Artist things were all starting to fall in place. Big Skeem has recently shot his first video for “Certified”/”Put Em Up Remix” directed by Gadget, which has gained a combined number of over 50,000 views from sites such as Forbezdvd.com, WorldstarHipHop.com and youtube. Currently promoting “CERTIFIED” and doing shows all over the state opening for artists like Ja Rule, JR Writer, and Freeway, Big Skeem is realizing the saying is definitely true “It’s not where your from, it’s where you’re at”
