I've also begun contributing articles over at Pokahblog. Some good stuff going on over there, including my semi-regular, mostly-lame reviews of poker pro's myspace pages.
Sadly, I made more money last year with my blogs and playing poker than I did doing "real" work. I wouldn't say either is "easy money", though - matter of fact, on a per-hour basis, it was pretty crappy. But, I find it amazing that I make money from writing a l'il bit each day or two.
As for the "real job", my career is in rebuilding mode since a layoff about 18 months ago. I am profoundly under-employed, but making steady progress to get back where I "belong" (whatever that means). There's no substitute for hard work.
If you're interested in making money from blogging, all I can tell you is be prepared to write and READ a bunch! There's a ton of info available on the web if you're interested in how to do it (I make 99.9% of mine from pre-paid ads rather than click-throughs, which is a good gig to get if you can), so i won't bore you with that stuff. If you're interested in poker blogs, I've got a tab-module over at NetVibes that has feeds from some of the greatest poker bloggers on the web.
Hey! (Yeah, it’s been a while.) Just giving you a heads up that I'll be in town for a change at the Borders on Southside, down from the Avenues Mall from 2 to 5pm this Saturday. (8801 Southside Blvd. 904-519-6500) So stop in and see me, and perhaps pose with me for a picture. I'd love to see you. :o)
Thank you so much for the positive response, friend. It really means a lot. Learnt,” my first novel, doesn’t come out until November 9, but if you haven’t already, you may want to subscribe to my blog. I use it for the sole purpose of posting my short stories. Perhaps there’s one you’ll enjoy.
At any rate, have a good one, my friend, and I’ll definitely stay in touch.
On Memorial Day, let us promise to uphold – the honor, glory, and freedom for which the brave hearts of our nation have laid down their lives. On this special day may your heart be filled with memories of those who made it possible.
