So...... I been producin since the spring of 2004 in my basement after hearing my cousins freestyle all the time. I figured....... Hey maybe I can make some beats so we'd have music instead of them rappin over the radio or silence. Never once did I consider producing music as a profession or something I could really be good at. Believe me I was not a wiz or a natural at this. I actually had to and still have to work hard to make a hot beat. I try to learn from all the producers that I have access to. Even if it's just listening to what they do or watchin how they mix music. Don't fool yourself people if you wanna be good at something you have to work wit the best and people atleast striving to be the best........ which brings me to the other GooniTunes. The biggest influence on my production career has to be Flawless and E-Folks!!! Everytime I think I made some heat they just kill me wit something so amazing!!!! Back to the drawing board..... is what I be thinkin! How can my music contend on a national level if I get smoked locally by my producer friends/associates??? That question is what fuels my fire as producer. I can never get comfortable where I'm at there's too many people ahead of me/us and too many people tryin to catch up. I grew up in musical family and church so music has always been a important part of my life. My family whole family sings (some exceptional others average). We can't even have a family birthday party without singing Happy Birthday in harmony (We Love and Miss you Uncle Bill R.I.P). People often ask me where the name GooniTunes came from. After working with Flawless for about 3 months while E-Folks was in college we went on a name search..... We had some really bad ones and some pretty good ones but none that really caught our attention. So one Saturday I was in my homie Scott Knoxx driveway and I really don't remember the situation we were talkin about but he ended up callin us Goons and walked away just long enough for me to have that Flashlight come on!!! GooniTunes!!!! O shit sun!!! It's going down!!! I called Flawless he approved and as they always say....... the rest is History!!! Be on the look out for the first GooniTunes Album January 08. This one will be a rap/hip hop/crunk album. We collabed wit people in our city and others accross the nation. After we let that breath a little we'll follow it up wit our R&B album.
