Books
There is a wide collection of books out there for many things pertaining to rendezvous'. These include finding a persona, making important camp essentials, recipes, games, history, and clothing and just about anything else needed to enjoy the hobby.
Heroes
A very big hero of ours was a very good, dear friend who will forever be missed and loved by the Rendezvous family and all who knew him. Rest in Peace Mike "Phulphy Bagens".
Another hero of ours is Mike Fink. We have a rendezvous in honor of him.
About me: We are a group of reinactors. We do Black Powder Rendezvous'. We represent the pre- 1850's and fur trade era. We have about 30 members.
We have two annual rendezvous' held in Forest City, Minnesota.
The first is the Mike Fink Shoot, which is held the third weekend in May. It is free to camp and there is s shooters fee. It is a fun, relaxing weekend.
The second is the Olde Tyme Frolic, which is held the third weekend in August. We have an average of 55 camps, lots of public on Saturday and Sunday and a great time. We have black powder shoots throughout the weekend, a hawk and knife throw, bow and arrow, many men's, women's and kid's games, Story-telling, round robin trading and much, much more. During the Frolic, the Historic Fort and village is open to the public with reinactors and demonstrators. There is also a threshing show, a flee market and a town wide garage sale.
