.. Here's the scoop on me... I'm 40 years old and have been totally horse crazy for at least 32 of those years (I started counting the year I first asked for my own pony). Age 8 - me riding Eagle the Appy at Maple Lanes in Oswego Age 10 - me with Shadow after a schooling show class at McShanes Stables in North Aurora Age 21 - me with Sunday (my first Saddlebred love) in a schooling show at Green Pastures Farm in Elburn Age 26 - me riding Allan Line's QH Tug at Green Pastures Farm in Elburn Age 34 - me hugging my favorite pony Mystic at Green Pastures Farm in Elburn I didn't actually get my pony until 2 years ago (after a several year "test ride" lease), but boy did I luck out! I ended up with the perfect horse: an "elderly" Saddlebred with a hilarious personality named Griffin. He's living the high life in a beautiful barn, next to his best friends, eating good food and taking me on some great rides! I have an 8 year old boy that has spent his life defying me, but has finally found his niche: swimming! He joined the West Chicago Sharks this past fall and has really discovered his passion. He's come so far in such a short time!!! On April 13, 2008, he was awarded the "Rookie of the Year" award for his contributions to the team. He shares my passion of NASCAR, and we are weekend race buddies, although I'm a Jimmie Johnson fan, and he is anything but... I've learned so much the past two years. I've learned to not take life for granted - I am thankful 1,000 times over for all the good things in my life, and the bad must be looked at as a learning experience. I find it so hard to accept those that fail to tell the truth or that cannot value all the good they have. Life has so much to offer than to dwell on the negative or make up stories to cover the truth... My horse is 23 years old and acts like a little boy - he plays hard, he commands attention, he's cute and annoying at the same time. I've learned so much from him - you are only as old as you feel... I lost my first baby - my Smooth Fox Terrier Lugar - in November 2007. He was just a week shy of his 15th birthday. Thank goodness I have Caramel to help. She's really become quite lovable since Lugar's gone... when she's not playing Frisbee...
