Something much different than you're used to! This ain't your grandad's blues!! We cut our first studio demo, which sounded more like a funky blues rock. We came across like The Spin Doctors were driving in a car with Gov't Mule, and then T-boned Blues Traveler at about 30mph with Journey watching. No one got hurt, but they just got their styles all stuck together. It's really different, and we hope you like it. Our next studio foray will produce both straight ahead Texas Blues, and a few straight ahead rock songs. After that, we've got a ton of acoustic material. We definetly don't write songs that sound the same!!! If you like what we're doing, either post a comment or stop at a show and meet the band!!!

Big Ugly is back!! I guess it's time to change the story just a little, if only to protect the guilty. Big Ugly enjoyed some success as a top flight cover band back in 2000-2001, but we called it quits because of stupidity, and wondered for years about what might have been. Well, now the wondering is all over!! We finally got our butts back together and are ready to bring some good tunes to the masses!!! Big Ugly got back into the fray in October of 2007, and we haven't stopped yet!! We've done a studio album called " Train To Nowhere" and we spent the entire summer playing every bar and club we could carry our stuff into!! Toad's Place, The Space, Daniel Street, The Relay For Life, and Ray Kelly's pub have all been uglified over the summer, and that's only naming a few!! We've gotten airplay on numerous College Radio stations as well as 99 Rock WPLR. We've been in both the New Haven Advocate and in Play magazines. We have also started working with George Engel of Sling Slang Records, and we've been added to the label's very talented group of artists!! Let's hope that the sky is the limit!!
Mike G is the Backbone of Big Ugly, he brings an amazing groove and great feel to the signature Big Ugly sound. Just a great all around drummer with rock solid chops. Chris Snowden is like the icing on the cake. Another guy who flat out can just play, Chris brings ripping solos and just the right touch to rhythm and acoustic playing. Dominick Mauro is like a big meatball on a plate of spaghetti. Too big to miss and something you're dying to jam your fork into!! Dominick is a bass player that lives for the groove, that can slap, pop, or just bring it. Dom also has a very powerful blues and gospel inspired voice that fronts Big Ugly, although everyone in the band can sing. We're writing new cuts for our Sling Slang debut album now, so check back from time to time.
