Fuzz Foster--bass Talk about a guy with credentials. River City Street Band, Los Pejos Viejos, Zorro and the Blue Footballs, the Tyrones--Fuzz has been around and has the chops to prove it. You want a solid foundation to your groove, call Fuzz.
Carl Thomas--keyboards Another veteran of the Tyrones, Carl also was a mainstay in country-rock band Backstage Pass. One of the most versatile keyboard players you'll ever hear.
Mark VanDerhoof--drummer--an "import" from Colorado, where he worked the road and clubs for many years, Mark has been in NW AR since the early 90's making a name for himself as a guy who can do anything from jazz to country to heart-pulsing rock. Mark joins Fuzz in anchoring the most solid rhythm section north of the Arkansas River.
Sterling Tucker--guitar, vocals. Another veteran, whose musical path has taken him from Little Rock to Dallas (where he spent several years playing with Savannah), and now to Northwest Arkansas. Sterling was a mainstay of party band, Take Cover before being vital in teh foundation of Big'uns.
Ed Nicholson--guitar--Ed's been around, from Nashville, where he toured as a sideman for Capitol Artist LaCosta in the 70 's, back to Little Rock, where he helped found the GroanUps, to Northwest Arkansas, where he was also instrumental in founding Big'uns. Ed's eclectic musical tastes have kept him involved in a number of musical efforts, including acoustic trio, Outside the Lines. | | Influences | Steely Dan, Little Feat, the Beatles, AC/DC, Paul Rogers, the Allman Brothers, Stevie Wonder, the Eagles, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Bob Seger, Van Morrison, James Brown, the Stones, John Hiatt, Sam Cook, Jimmy Buffett, the Band. | About Big’uns |
|

Big'uns is a compilation of Northwest Arkansas music veterans, from bands that have kept people on their feet for years. Bands like River City, the Tyronnes, the GroanUps, Backstage Pass, Take Cover and more.
Big'uns has been together since 2005 and during that time has gained a growing and loyal following. The band is incredibly versatile. They can dress up and play your daughter's wedding reception, pleasing everyone from the grandmother of the bride to cousin Jill who wants to hear a John Mayer song. Or by contrast, for the third year in a row, they'll rock the rowdy biker crowd at Bikes, Blues and BBQ, and every couple of months, draw record crowds to the happy hour at George's Majestic Lounge on Fayetteville's Dickson Street. Big'uns has headlined Fayetteville's First Night, plays 10-15 wedding receptions a year, and is a certain crowd favorite for charity events, such as Children's House's Summer Salsa, and the annual Ryan Gibson Foundation gala. Birthday parties, class reunions, corporate events, you name it--the band can add energy to make the affair a success.
With the exception of vocal phenom, Darren Ray (the hardest working man in show business, now that James Brown is no longer among us), members of Big'uns have careers outside music. In spite of that, the band plays 30-40 engagements a year.
We would love to play your event. For more information on booking the band, call Sterling Tucker at 479-236-8203 or Ed Nicholson 479-871-8006.
