Have you heard? Bike Out is BACK! LifeWorks Mentoring and leaders from the Bike Out community are coming together to bring back biking trips and outdoor education for LGBTQ youth! To kick off this new partnership we're going hiking together in Griffith Park. Come spend the morning with us enjoying the great outdoors and the great queer and trans folks of BikeOut and LifeWorks :)

:: Open to all youth ages 14-24 in all our LGBTQ communities
:: Free Lunch provided if you RSVP!
:: Free shuttle from Hollywood & Western Red Line Station @ 9:45!
:: Learn more about LifeWorks and BikeOut and get involved!

:DIRECTIONS & WHERE TO MEET:

We are hiking in Fern Dell Canyon in Griffith Park. The canyon is located on Fern Dell Dr., just north of Los Feliz Blvd. and east of Western. For directions, click here. There is free parking on Fern Dell. We will meet at the small playground on the east side of the street, across from the cafe.

If you are taking the Metro, please be at the Red Line station at Hollywood/Western by 9:45 am. We will give you a ride to the meeting place for the hike. Please let us know if you will be meeting us at the Metro station.

:WHAT TO BRING:

:: Wear comfortable clothes and shoes for walking in that you don't mind getting dirty. NO SANDALS!!
:: If it's cold that morning bring something long-sleeved.
:: A small bag or back pack.

Bike Out Cycle On's Blurbs

About me:

Here's the scoop! Bike Out programs are officially going to continue as part of LifeWorks Mentoring, an agency that offers mentoring programs for LGBTQ youth. Our community will still be able to run Bike Out programs and help determine what they look like, but now we also have a cool partner agency. It's a win-win situation.

Trips will start up slowly over the coming months, but there are many ways to get involved right now! We still need trip leaders and participants. There will be volunteer mechanic opportunities, opportunities to become part of the mentoring programs, and opportunities to serve on advisory boards. The best way to find out about everything is... to come on the hike December 9th!

NENU	May 24 2006 1:10 PM Support the South Central Farm - 7pm nightly candlelight vig Body: PLEASE COME OUT AND SUPPORT THE SOUTH CENTRAL FARM BY ATTENDING THE CANDLE LIGHT VIGILS AT 7PM EVERY NITE. Location - Alameda and 41st They are being held nightly to make a continuing statement that we will not allow this land to be taken from the community and destroyed by turning it into another industrial site when green space and healthy affordable foods are so badly needed, both of which the farm provides along with many other benefits. They said tonights vigil was 100 people strong, tomorrow it will be 1000 people, then 100, 000 and so on growing and showing support for the farm, showing that it is not just the farmers and local community who are fighting for the farm but that the larger LA area and beyond are watching and concerned for this hidden treasure that the city is going to allow to be destroyed. On May 1st people came out in the masses to show their disapproval of the bill 4437 and all the anti-immigrant propaganda being promoted. PLEASE COME OUT IN THE MASSES TO SHOW THE DISAPPROVAL IN THE DESTRUCTION OF THE SOUTH CENTRAL FARM. If we each bring 3 people each night to the candle light vigil. IT WILL GROW.
