Johnny Penn and Olivier Bonnard met during a detention at Glenlyon Norfolk Prep School when they were 16. Penn was a debater, competing at Oxford, and Bonnard an artist, exhibiting his first round of Oscar-winning oil paintings. After graduation, both said farewell; Penn moving to Montreal to join Tokyo Police Club, Wolf Parade, and Chromeo in the halls of McGill University and Bonnard entering the art circles of Queen West alongside Feist, MSTRKRFT and Broken Social Scene.
In 2007 they met again in a Montreal cafe and talked about making music about the good old days. Two weeks later a parcel arrived from Bonnard containing the wav files for his cover of Feist's 1234. Penn lay vocals on the track and posted it back. Before long their cover leaked and blew up in Montreal, Toronto and on the internet. Then another package arrived. And another.
Hi Bikini, a very warm welcome.. FRIEND VOTE is the place for Artists with Friends, not fans. To join in, all you need to do is ask your friends to vote for one of your songs, if you get enough votes you appear in the chart, if you appear in the chart you will get more friends, if you get to No.1 your page views and song plays will increase significantly! All the best, hope to see you in the chart soon. Keith@FV. http://www.myspace.com/indietop100 http://www.twitter.com/indietop100
