BILL ALTON
BILL ALTON the MUSICIAN
Bill Alton achieved his status as KING DRIFTER after co-founding and co-forming the STARLIGHT DRIFTERSin 1997. While with the STARLIGHT DRIFTERS, Bill sang lead vocals on three CD's: Presenting the Starlight Drifters, Every Note a Pearl, and Thirteen to Go. With the STARLIGHT DRIFTERS, Bill toured the country from coast to coast until 2003, at which time he "retired" from the STARLIGHT DRIFTERS, and went on a two year sabbatical to feed homeless children in Nigeria. Just kidding. After a brief "retirement" Bill emerged and sang lead vocals as well as earning his first production credit on Carl Bradychok's 2004 release, Children At Play. Bill also sang lead and fronted the band THE ROCKABILLY ALL STARS for Carl Bradychok in 2004 and 2005. Bill then co-formed KENTUCKY CHROME and performed as their lead singer from 2005 until early 2007. Bill then formed his own band, KING DRIFTER, an exciting rhythm and blues rockabilly band. From 2007 until 2008, Bill then sang locally with THE STREAMLINERS, and then with TROOPER THORN in 2008 and 2009. Bill has been praised as being quite possibly the best roots vocalist in the country, if not the world.
BILL ALTON the ACTOR
In addition to his singing, Bill has been involved with NIGHTMARE SINEMA, now called CHILLER DRIVE-IN, a local late-night show hosted by WOLFMAN MAC, showcasing classic 'B' horror and sci fi movies. Bill has had some small roles on NIGHTMARE SINEMA, including a Zombie and a Carnie on episodes such as "The Night of the Living Dead," "The Last Man on Earth," and "Carnival of Souls." Bill also introduced his own character FRANKIE the ROCKABILLY FRANKENSTEIN on NIGHTMARE SINEMA. Bill hopes to bring FRANKIE back to television soon!
