I was influenced early on by Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, the Everly Brothers, Chuck Berry, and later by the Eagles, Jimmy Buffett, Van Morrison, Three Dog Night, CCR, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Vince Gill, Don Williams, George Strait, Alan Jackson, Alison Krauss, and many others.
I was born in Dothan Alabama and spent my first 16 years there before we moved to Florida. I got my first guitar (a Sears Silvertone) and amp when I was fourteen years old. I was already being influenced by Elvis, the Everly Brothers, Jerry Lee Lewis and many more. I don't think there's anyone that love's music more than I do. Of course I know some people would argue with that. Not only do I love country music, I also enjoy other genre's as well. Listening to my music samples will clearly show other influences but in my case, they have a country flavor. I'm happily married. My wife's name is Penny. We raised two kids. My son Billy succumbed to cystic fibrosis when he was 18 years old. My daughter Angela graduated from St. Leo University here in Florida and now works in South Florida. Bill, hey this is awsum i finally saw the great little singer Connie Talbot up scranton pa in steamtown mall. this will be the third singer i saw in person from myspace. ill post pics up. and i cant believe she knew who i was. her dad pointed and tapped her on the shoulder and said this is matthew. she smiled really big. awsum and sweet little girl. if ya ever get a chance see her if she ever comes close to you. i even talked to her mom a good bit and got a pic with her to. i couldnt talk to connie to much just to say hello she was busy sighning autographs and yes i got one. its amazing this tiny little girl has such a powerful voice. she is truely a gift from God. ok ttyl friend matt g

Hi Bill, thank you so much for the friendship, pleasure to be your friend. Bill please let me tell you, with a voice like yours, people should be writing songs for YOU!! I have heard lots of country singers Bill, some good, some not so good, but you are up there with the best, a lot of artists sing country because they like it and thats OK, some even try to put on a false American voice, but you are the real thing Bill, well done to you, if you found the right song Bill, you would be on your way, I wish you every success, if you ever get to Ireland, please look me up, peace respect and much love, Will.
